Ricky's kindness and hospitality is the best I've had in Peru. Caraz is the perfect stopping point to do the Santa Cruz trek and other Laguna's such as Paron. Much more pleasant than endless day-trips from Huaraz. Highly recommend a stay in his beautiful casa!

The hosts Elva and Eloy are excellent. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. They helped with getting us appropriate travel for our mountaineering trips, made very tasty breakfasts and accommodated our changing plans (modifications in dates due to the situation with our climbing plans) The beds were the most comfortable I've experienced in any accommodation and they helped us by allowing us to hand wash and dry our gear on the rooftop terrace. The shower had great pressure and the hot water was abundant. Eloy gave us a ride to the airport, doing two trips to ensure we could get our ski bags there without any issues. I would definitely stay with them again on return to the Cordillera Blanca.

We loved everything! The domos are comfortable, clean, and due to the warm bedding and hot showers we didn't feel cold at all. Breakfast and dinner were really delicious and the staff was incredibly nice! The domos are a good starting point for hiking, whether you want to go on a day trip to one of the lagoons in the cordillera or just a spontaneous hike to the nearby forest. Alternatively it's the best place to just relax surrounded by beautiful nature and cute alpakas!
