first stop on our palawan tour and I would say the best - incredible views into bay, cozy and very clean bamboo villas, tasty simple breakfast and very helpful owners. If you want to stay out of loud place but still close enough in case you want have more fun, choose this place as it is like from a fairy tale. Will recommend everywhere!! Best way to reach the accommodation is by boat taxi from port barton

This place is hidden gem. Away from the noise of Puerto Princessa, lies this beautiful small hotel. Staff is very kind and helpful. Restaurant creates delicious and tasteful meals from sunrise till sunset. Talking about sunset, this hotel has the best view on the entire island. It was so good that I proposed to my girlfriend purely because the views and setting ;)

We liked the location, nice and peaceful away from the busy location in El Nido. The manager/chef Jane was very accommodating and always cooked us delicious meals. Also Mia and Clare were always there to help with whatever we requested. We thank everyone who made our stay very memorable. We would definitely stay here again (we apologise in advance, hope we spelt the names correctly).

The location is excellent — not right in the noisy city center, but still close enough to reach the city quickly and easily. The host was absolutely amazing: she helped us with everything we needed and is incredibly friendly. The accommodation itself is very clean, well-maintained, and beautifully organized. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it!

Our stay at villa Fria was one of our highlights for this trip. We were looking for a place to wind down and relax, away from touristy crowds and got that and more. The family running the place is incredibly friendly and helpful. You can order yummy food right there and eat at the beach which is super handy given that it's located a bit away from everything. That said the next town is just a 15 min scooter ride away, along with waterfalls and dreamy white sandy beaches if you want to explore the area a bit. We were staying in the cottage without air con (with fans) which was totally fine for us, the bed was clean and comfy and we enjoyed the outside shower/ bathroom. We only travelled with two big backpacks so riding from Port Barton with a scooter was possible (and seemed the best option), just be aware that the street isnt in the best condition for about half of the route. it's possible to do the trip in 30 min if you're alone with no luggage and comfortable riding on bumpy roads, two ppl with luggage took us more like an hour. It's also possible to hire a trike to get there.

Very helpful staff went out of their way and the place was absolutely spotless and brand new . The pool was fabulous for a cool dip late at night and first thing in the morning.

So lovely stay, we actually took another two nights. Owners are nothing but sweet and friendly people, they arranged for us boat tour to Black Island with overnight stay, they make perfect coconut shakes and they was really helpfull with everything we needed. Nearby is really nice restaurant but they also cook nice meals. Thanks!

I just loved my stay so much and also the host family is friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom is basic, but clean. You get a towel, fan and have a good mosquito net. The bathroom has no toilet paper and no bin, so if you need that you can bring paper and a plastic bag or maybe the hosts have it. There is a shower head, but for a more efficient process you can use the bucket. The location is directly at the beach and sooo beautiful and peaceful. The hosts serve breakfast, lunch and dinner for very fair prices. Right next door is a restaurant and a small shop. I wished I could have stayed longer. If you go by scooter, the about 3km from mainroad to the cottages is bumpy and not for beginners.

Amazing place. We travel for two months and lived in luxury hotels as well, but this place, with the lowest of standard till made the biggest impression, good vibes in general and amazing location. The staff was 100% genuine, sweet and caring beyond expectations!

We had a great time at Alta Cabana in Bucana, Palawan. John Dee, the host, was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay - And we had a lot of fun together! He organized transport and mopeds for us, making everything more convenient. On our last day, he even gave us a ride to El Nido, which was much appreciated. The breakfast was tasty, especially the pancakes, and the dinner we shared with John Dee was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. He’s a really good cook! The cabanas were small but comfortable, and it was a simple yet pleasant experience and. The aircondition worked perfectly. The location is peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of El Nido town. It’s just a 5-minute moped ride to Duli Beach, which was perfect for us. We’re excited to see how John Dee’s place develops in the future and would love to come back!
