This is actually a rather nice apartment, but the host is unprofessional and dishonest. The pictures on Booking.com seem to indicate that the apartment is on the ground floor. It is not. It is located on the third floor without elevator under the roof - it gets very hot in the summer. The information on Booking.com indicates there is a washing machine. It is not located in the unit, but rather in a common area downstairs. The host charges EUR 5 per load, which was never communicated to us in advance. Worst of all, the unit is located next to a construction site with work beginning at 6am in the morning with an excavator and banging and shouting. No way to sleep, even with the best earplugs. When we expressed our misgivings about this to the host, since it was never communicated or explained, she brushed it off and seemed to blame us for not getting up that early. Finally, the host entered the unit unannounced in our absence. We were present that day until 1pm. The host could have easily come then or communicated with us via WhatsApp. But no, she entered the unit to leave a note on the kitchen table (could have just slipped it under the door) and to put out the trash. We were happy she put out the trash, but it seemed as if she was checking up on us secretly, since everything could have been communicated remotely or at least announced. There was a clear feeling of invading our privacy unnecessarily. If someone runs an Airbnb or Fewo, this is basic courtesy!
The hotel is tucked in the woods across the river from Burghausen but has an outstanding view of the old town and castle. We arrived on bikes and they had a spacious locked garage for them. The staff was friendly during check-in and breakfast. The room was spacious. The beds were comfortable and I liked the weight of the cotton/poly blanket. The comforters are often too hot in summer. The breakfast was tasty but my husband would have preferred to have some eggs available.
We didn't know the town, were using this as a stop off on the drive back to Frankfurt. Wow what a place, such a pretty city i wish we'd stayed longer. And the view from the hotel really show cases the town. You can see the 'world's longest castle' from the room and the restaurant. Staff were super friendly and kind. Beds were comfortable and facilities great.
The Room was spacious, I had two beds, was quite clean, the washroom was fine. There was a desk, and a balcony, and perhaps the best view I’ve ever had from a hotel room, over the castle and lower old city in Burghausen on the other side of the river. The breakfast was meager but what you expect at this price level. Often there’s no breakfast at this price.
The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious (I believe my husband is going to dream about the crepes for a while), and the view is beyond spectacular!! Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend!! We stay in a lot of hotels, BnBs, etc, and we absolutely want to come back.
The staff were incredibly friendly. They gave us great recommendations for sightseeing spots nearby. We had a very nice breakfast and check out experience. The view from the hotel is 10/10!
