The guided snorkle tour with Rob (I think that was his name!) He was so knowledgeable about the coral and fish and turtles.

I got welcome cookie, it was warm and so good! I could borrow an umbrella for free. Morning buffet was nice, every day change menu a little bit and sometimes waitress serve meal directly from kitchen if you go to buffet early time. ( I got matcha cake, pasta, omelette on 7am) I loved matcha cake :) there is calling taxi bell, taxi always came in 3min! So comfortable.

The island itself was pleasant The walks were tough, Nudey beach was nothing to write home about A sign there made me laugh “ beware of sharks, stingers, crocodiles and currents” Life in Australia! Great island to visit and stay a few nights. 3 nights is more than enough though. Amazing snorkelling right off the beach which I can’t recommend enough. Saw a turtle every time I went in the water, plus reef sharks, humphead wrasse, stingrays, hundreds of species of fish and coral. It is awesome inspiring. Go snorkeling at low tide for an extra special experience as everything is about 1 meter below the surface at that time and so close and special!

Resort is a bit tired and needs an upgrade bathrooms etc have lots of build up over the years but view is to die for-more dining options would be good given you are staying on an island.zephyr restaurant is great.nuddie beach is lovely and worth the 20 minute walk. There are school camps there which is great for the kids and lots of day trippers

Fitzroy is a very small island that is a day trip for most people. An overnight stay is an opportunity to experience the island and resort after the day trippers have departed, but two nights will exhaust the available restaurant options and three nights would be too many. Note that although the apartments have fully fitted kitchens, the only store on the island stocks NO food items. Smh. Note also that the few walks available will only suit the very fit and able bodied. A big shout-out to Ali who provides kayaks and SUP from the beachfront. These and the glass bottom boat are recommended.

Bring your own snorkelling gear as hiring it for 3 days is equal to buying it. Food is expensive and the general store is really limited. Bring your own cereal/breakfast to help reduce costs. Staff are fantastic. If you have young kids, bring beach shoes as the the sand is very rough and mostly broken coral. The gym is for staff only, which is strange. Things to do are limited if its raining, bring cards or games to play.

We love Fitzroy island and come where possible yearly. We stay one bedroom apartment and bring over some food to cook as well as go to foxys. We stay for 7-9 days. We bring snorkeling gear and love swimming with the green turtles. One of our favorite places!
