The room was very good. Although for the cost I would have expected a bigger room.

The room was comfortable and spacious and had excellent access to reception, the dining room and the car parking. The location in Charlestown was central to all the functions that we were attending. It was in a very quiet location and away from any road noise.

A growing city with post industrial modern feel.
A growing city with post industrial modern feel. Loved the honeysuckle hotel pub. The waterfront has been transformed and the new tram and rail connection excellent.
Quieter early in the week but really busy and buzzing at weekends.

The beaches are awesome, the food venues are plentiful.
The beaches are awesome, the food venues are plentiful. We went to Autumn Rooms on Darby St for breakfast & OMG, one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. I just wished the weather was better as it was raining & we didn't go to the beach. We went driving along the coast & into Newcastle city & the foreshore. It's a combination of old historic buildings & new which is just lovely. The foreshore was a nice place to walk & visit The Station. We went for a walk to Bogey Hole which is an ocean swimming hole that the convicts dug out for a commander back in the 1800s. I will definitely be going back to Newie & enjoying what they have to offer.

Never having been there before, I congratulate all Novacastrians for being able to keep such a big secret: that Newcastle is a great holiday destination. There is so much to see and do, so many pubs and eateries, beaches are beautiful, and it's easy to find your way around. Coffee in Hunter St, drinks at the Wharf...I miss it already. Next time, I'm spending a week there.

The waterfront area is attractive and accessible, the shipping traffic is interesting and impressive, river cruise through the port facilities is a window to the value and scale of the export trade.
Fighter World and RAAF air traffic at Raymond Terrace are a must see.
Beaches are accessible, plentiful and worth a visit, cool days or warm.
City road traffic can be busy. Drivers are polite and patient so navigation is comfortable.
Only downside was that the Museum is closed on a Monday, unbeknown to us. On our arrival, it had been opened to suit a cruise ship in port. The door person would not admit us two grey headed, non cruise ship visitors on that rainy day. A poor attitude to visitors!

All hotel team members we met at check-in/out and in restaurant were awesome (friendly, professional & respectful). We really enjoyed a swim in the pool with bushland surrounds after the drive there. And it was great to have an on-site restaurant that served high quality food at affordable prices. We will stay here again when we are next in the Newcastle area.
Staff welcomed me on check in and changed my room when I asked.
The room was entirely as would be expected for a three star hotel - the bathroom was a self-contained unit installed into the room; desk was very pokey against the wall, but the room was adequate for a short stay. It was clean on my arrival.
We have never stayed at a QT Hotel before, so didn't know what to expect. The hotel is only a few months old, so it is all brand new, but what stood out was the quality of the design and thought that had gone into all the beautiful bespoke finishes in the room, making it unique and had a very luxurious feel.
Room 111 was clean and comfortable. Good communication. Off-street parking outside the unit. Provided instructions for recycling. Two minute drive to the Matarra Hotel which had a good bistro.
