A heritage-listed mansion in the Yarra Valley wine region, Chateau Yering Hotel offers elegant Victorian-style suites in a garden setting. First and foremost, the staff were lovely and helpful. The room was beautifully appointed. Loved the views from the balcony, relaxing on the claw foot tub, and walking to Yering Station.
Located in Yarra Glen, the heritage-listed Yarra Valley Grand Hotel features a bistro, a restaurant, a bar and live entertainment. Guests enjoy included continental breakfast and free WiFi. A fantastic pub and motel still in its original style with modern facilities, great food(we had dinner and breakfast, white wine, red wine and beers) The bed was amazing. The weather was cold and wet but the heater was great and plenty of blankets. AND a free pair of 'Grand Hotel' socks.
Located on a beautiful award-winning vineyard, Balgownie Estate Yarra Valley offers luxurious Yarra Valley accommodations. Great location and views of Yarra expanse of valley views Very courteous n helpful staff The restaurant served reasonably good delicious food.
Located opposite the racecourse in Yarra Glen, these family friendly and fully self-contained apartments include full kitchen and laundry facilities. Each apartment offers views over the racecourse. Great location. Lovely host. The property was clean and comfortable. A nice place just to relax. We would definitely stay there again.
Set among 3-acres of landscaped gardens and bushland, Araluen Boutique Accommodations is located in the picturesque Steels Creek Valley, just 7 minutes' north of Yarra Glen. I absolutely loved the hillside cottage, the views were stunning. Rachel was such an accommodating host and we were so grateful for all the local advise and ease when upgrading our rooms. Will absolutely book again when we are on holiday
Located in the beautiful Yarra Valley, this couples-only B&B offers accommodations with free Wi-Fi and balcony views of the valley and Christmas Hills. Comfy bed and good size room and bathroom for a couple. Breakfast offering was very good. Well located to surrounding areas of interest
Boasting a spa bath, Olinda Yarra Cottage is located in Yering. The air-conditioned accommodations is 31 mi from Melbourne, and guests benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. We instantly fell in love with the property and the gorgeous property owners who warmly welcomed us and then went over and above to make our stay truly relaxing and enjoyable. There was a great little kitchen with everything you need for food preparation. The fireplace was the perfect treat for toasting marshmallows and warming the cottage (There is also a split system if you need). Lovely hot water and good water pressure in the bathroom - which we love! Lovely and spacious with a second living space. Easy to keep clean with kids. Brilliant location to explore Healesville and the surrounding area.
We visited many places in the Yarra Valley such as the Chocolate Factory; Rayners Orchard; Maccas Farm; Four Pillars Distillery; Sugarloaf Reservoir...and this rounded off our surreal hot air ballooning activity with Global Ballooning Australia. We ate at Levantine Hills Estate and Balgownie Estate-both of which were fantastic. It was easy to travel to each place.
The perfect weekend getaway! Experience Victoria's gorgeous wineries, scenery, local produce and fabulous accommodation. We attended a wedding at Zonzo Estate - it was fabulous and the best food and wine we've had at a wedding. We stayed at Balgownie Estate (as there is no accommodation at Zonzo) and we received an upgrade (just because - love that!) and had lunch at Rae's Restaurant. Highly recommend - amazing food all made from local YV produce. Do yourself a favor - it's no more than 1.5 hour from the CBD so you get max time to indulge.
apart from the misty rain a very scenic place to spend driving around and looking at different wineries large and small. a small winery can be very informative of there wine making methods and how they go about it. Mandela winery restaurant for a Saturday night dinner was excellent and not far from our overnight stay. Very busy weekend due to Friday valentines day and a lot of places had private functions & weddings on. Sunday market and chocolatier was great.
Yarra Glen and locations around there are lovely and peaceful, the villages are excellent to eat, shop local traders and I required a hairdresser for our son’s wedding and Blondies at Yarra Glen were fantastic and welcoming.
We ate at Heartwood, main street Yarra Glen - a wonderful small new restaurant owned by chef Matt Biney - he was more than happy and able to tweak his already fabulous menu to cater for us. Delicious food, eye on detail - hope he does well out there. Had a drink and dessert at the local Hotel Grand listened to a band playing good light rock which was fun. Visited Alowyn nursery - fabulous 7 acres of gardens - roses, vegies and fruit and berries and loads more. Stayed at Balgownie which was an overpriced massive disappointment - should have stayed somewhere small and intimate and probably less than half the price.
Although a redecorate would help we had a very pleasant stay. Room was clean and neat and the included continental breakfast was great. Everyone we dealt with was lovely, the staff were all very helpful and pleasant to deal with. You could walk to a few local shops for some retail therapy or there a several places to have a coffee and cake. You need a car though to visit wineries and other local attractions, all worth a visit.
