Hotel Sana, Hotel President Sarajevo, and Swissotel Sarajevo are some of the popular hotels in Sarajevo.
It is very nice city full of nature, but you can cover everything in the city in 4 days. You need to visit cities near to it , so I will suggest to divide the trip to multiple cities: (satarievi, mostar, bihatch .... ) also you may need a car to have trips outside the city.
We staid 2 nights in Sarajevo. This was enough for a quick visit, may need some extra day if you want to do things on the fringe of the city. The city is buzzing with tourist. English is widely spoken and people are very kind and smiley. It is a great city to walk around, a car is a bit of a burden. We ended our trip to Bosnia in Sarajevo and drop the hired car before hitting the town. We left before the Sarajevo Film Festival, though we could see more people coming into the city for the event. The bar Sarajevska pvata is worth a visit and the beers are great. We had great breakfast at Dveri. We went to Buregdzinica Sac, for some tasty Borek cook traditionally under the bell.
Everything is great in Sarajevo from people, rivers waterfalls and delicious foods. The only one thing I did not like about Bosnia is corrupt police who try to hunt Tourists and give them fines or ask for money for themselves in order to avoid giving you fine. If this is going to continue it will negatively impact truism and economy.
Sarajevo is a relatively small city compared to Stockholm where I live, but there is so much to see. Just walking around town and experiencing east and west cultures at the same time is very different and astonishing. Great food culture. Cheap if you are from a scandinavian country. A lot of museums to visit and many historical places (like where WWI started). Many scars left from the Yugoslav wars but it is also unique to be able to see how old meets new. Extremly friendly people. Everybody does not know how to speak english so I recommend a tour guide for one day who can help with the translations. The natives have a lot of interesting stories to tell. If you are staying longer I recommend renting a car and driving to Visoko to see the pyramid and its tunnels. I also recommend driving to Mostar which only takes around two hours and is a magical place. If you want to have a travel experience that very few places can offer, I recommend Sarajevo. One week is enough if you are just going to stay in the city but if you are travelling around the country I would recommend a longer stay.
It has a particular charm. It should be one of the first tourist destinations ever to visit because it has so many aspects (in a small way) that are present in different realities. The gastronomic specialties (cepavci and burek) are prepared almost everywhere in an approximate way, and are less tasty than they can actually be. Excellent level of restaurants (at least for my double experience)
There's a weirdly dark energy about Sarajevo, and it was easily my least favourite city of my trip. It's almost as though the remnants of the war hang over everything. It's often eerily quiet, and there's a lack of interesting things to do. Public transport is really limited. The food is pretty average, and you can't go anywhere - cafes, restaurants, the old town - without being engulfed in cigarette smoke. As a solo female traveller, I had a few uncomfortable experiences with older men, and people weren't the warmest/friendliest in general. The heat in the summer was unbearable, at mid-30s to nearly 40 degrees Celsius every day. By the time I was a week in, I couldn't wait to leave, and when my flight out was cancelled, I nearly panicked at the thought of having to stay longer. I wouldn't go back, and definitely wouldn't recommend it when there are cities like Tbilisi to be explored.
The apartment is located very close to the center of the city, Bascarsija, and it's in the same street where the cable car station to Trebevic is, so it's a great place to stay in. The apartment is very cozy, clean, equiped with any electric utensil one could think of. The owners are very nice, served us a traditional Bosnian coffee (kahva) both when we arrived and on our departure, and we appreciated the gesture very much. We highly recommend this apartment.
Sarajevo
- Very friendly hosts - left a very good impression of Bosnian hospitality - The apartment is super clean, well lit and spot-less - looks better than the pictures on booking.com & tastefully set up. - very good neighborhood - safe and quiet - good security measures in the building - Elevator in the building - a short walk to the town centre (4 or 5 minutes) - plenty of restaurants, shops and groceries in the vicinity - well equipped apartment
Good position of the hotel for walking to the city center. However, the rooms are small and the bathroom was not cleaned too well. Even if I called the hotel for booking a parking when we arrived they did not reserve for us a spot and we had to park on the street.. The breakfast is okay, not too much choice, but there is a nice woman who cooks omelette for you
Sarajevo
Everything was absolutely amazing and perfect! Apartment is huge, comfortable, super clean and equipped! Its probably the best accommodation to stay in Sarajevo. Owners were amazing and so kind, friendly and helpful! If you decided to visit this beautiful city make sure to book this apartment with the beautiful view and you will not regret it!
Sarajevo
Clean and pretty apartment, very friendly owners, great location. I've booked many apartments in Sarajevo over the years, but this was one of the most solid and pleasant experiences. If you want to stay in an authentic Bosnian house just around the corner of the old town for a really fair price, this is a great choice.
Amazing location. Really close to the city center. The room was really cozy and amazing value for money. Breakfast was really good and it was a lot 😱 If I would travel to Sarajevo again, I would definetly book a room at this hotel. The hotel also has parking spaces and that is a big plus.
Hotel is located 1 min on foot from the famous Sebilj Cesma. The serve superb Bosnian pitas as a part of their buffet breakfast. The staff is very kind and helpful. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. I will definitely return when I visit Sarajevo again.
Unforgettably tasty breakfast! Complimentary beverage 24/7! Genuine bosnian coffee(kahva) and mouthwatering crepés! Small cozy hotel with great staff ! Ljudi velikog ♥️ We will gladly come back !
Great service as predicted tremendous experience Great and continental breakfast Nearby services for instance , grocery , restaurant etc I hardly recommend to book this hotel
Absolutely central in the city. Amazing breakfast (Bosnian recommended). Kindness of all personel and helpful atitude. Atmosphere of the hotel. To return over and over again.
great, very central location, friendly and helpful staff / owners, good breakfast, nice Bosnian coffee offer
Duplicate review as I booked 2 nights separately. Great hotel.
Best hotel in Bosnia by far
The hotel is located in an amazing spot, super quite and cozy, the hotel and rooms design are awesome, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the food at the restaurant was great, I loved staying there, and as middle eastern person, having a "shattaf/bidet sprayer" in the toilet is a huge bonus.
Sarajevo
The best view in town. Great look-out over the city of Sarajevo. The host of the house was really helpfull and friendly. He helped with all the questions we had and the house was clean and better then expected. Would really recommend!
All staff were exceptional, from receptionists to waiters in the restaurant. Clean, spacious rooms, nice pool, excellent view and food on rotating prism...
