Lollipops Inn has a restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, a bar and shared lounge in The Bottom. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Mrs Lollypop and Will were great hosts! They were so nice, hospitable, and knowledgeable about Saba. It was a delight to stay here. A great value for the cost.
Featuring free WiFi, Statia Lodge is an eco-lodge offers pet-friendly accommodation in Oranjestad. The property is set in a garden surrounded by nature and the ocean. Free parking is available on... Excellent breakfast selection- toast, jam, butter, juice, yoghurt, ham, eggs, tea, coffee-(expresso machine), cereal, milk. Variable fruit, (orange, apple or banana). Quantities were sufficient, service was top notch, and eating in the morning overlooking the ocean was very enjoyable. Daily room service, toilet paper, soap provided. Away from lights for an excellent night sky. The horizon overlooking the ocean was filled with stars. We had such a good time we extended our week by four days.
Very friendly staff, they will help you with everything you need. Excellent breakfast. It gives you energy to start your hike! Charming bungalows with a spectacular view. Beautiful nature and peaceful silence.
The whole of Saba is worth a visit, just gorgeous. The hikes are lovely, and didn't take us nearly as long as anyone said - including guide books and signs. We ate at Brigadoon which we highly recommend, cosy atmosphere, great service and food. The Bakery and Hideaway both had great food and service too. The name should have been a giveaway - but its much cooler than expected. Take a jumper or windbreaker.
Glad we chose to stay in Windwardside and specifically at the Cottage Club. Very easily accessible to supermarkets, excellent restaurants and to our hiking trail. We had dinner at Brigadon and Chez Bubba, both were superb and not badly priced. Excellent service and delicious meals. Lunch at Hideaway also was great. Bizzy B Cafe was delightful. Came home with her freshly baked Multigrain!
It's the place to be. It has plenty of restaurants. Saba Snack for a nice lunch. Swinging Doors on Sundays for steak night. Bizzy B for breakfast or a cup of coffee. There are also some small shops, and Sea Saba Dive Center is located in Windwardside to book your snorkel or diving trip. The start of the hike to Mt Scenery is just outside of the center, and the trail shop makes a good starting point to evaluate various hikes on the Saba island. It is convenient to take a taxi to the head of Sandy Cruz trail.
Many good restaurants and bars for a small town. Brigadoons was our favorite for dinner, enjoyed the lionfish. The Long Haul was good and reasonably priced with large portions, pizza was very good. We explored the island by walking and we were asked many times if we needed a ride. I was impressed with the friendliness of everyone on this tiny island of Saba.
Windwardside is an amazing place. For visitors, it is the best place to stay on the island. There are many amazing restaurants here all within walking distance. There is a large selection of places to stay as well, ranging in prices and services. Windwardside is the hub for many of the activities that happen in Saba. The trail shop is located there which is extremely important if you are going to hike. The conditions on Saba can be very dangerous for hikers, so checking in with the trail shop will give you the insight if a trail has been compromised due to a land slide, slick and muddy because of rain fall, or dangerous because of rising tides. Hikers need to be aware and vigilant, this is a place where hikers can easily get lost, and in the cases of the trails on the cliffs, it could be deadly. This unspoiled place can be an amazing place for hiking, but it also requires proper hiking boots, water, and determination. Windwardside also homes the office of SeaSaba. So if you want to snorkel or dive with them, this is the place to be. There are some shops, bars, and a bakery. Windwardside also has one of the only 2 ATMs on the island. Taxis are frequently available and you can get most places on the island rather quickly from Windwardside. Don't be fooled though. This is not a place for your average tourist. There are no beaches, boardwalks, tourist shops, or big hotels, and it is on a mountain which requires you to walk up and down very steep hills. This is an amazing place, full of amazing people, unspoiled by tourist market that has taken over most of the Caribbean. A very special place that has found its way into my heart and will be there forever.
