We were dropped off in Dangriga after an intense 3-day sailing trip. We used our short stay to rewind and recharge at Ocean View. Ocean View is a great place for those things: the cabanas are located beautifully near the ocean, are fully equipped and are in excellent state. Host was super friendly, helped us with information about local public transport and responded really quick to any questions we had. Would really recommend this place if you’re like us, looking for a place to rewind off the beaten path!

The room with good air conditioning is perfect after some days sailing. Excellent shower. The bedroom #8 is really big and comfortable. Coffee maker and coffee were nice in the room. The hostess of the hotel drove us to the airport - so kind of her (extra treat)

Tessie and her staff went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, despite the awful weather! They were very accommodating regarding meals and happy to make changes to the set menus where possible. When the internet went down and we needed to confirm our onward travel plans Tessie was happy to help. The resort is set on a tiny island so when the rain started and our plans for snorkelling and boat trips were cancelled we were glad to have access to lots of books and board games to keep us occupied. The homemade biscuits were a great treat in the afternoon and the food was generally very good.

Dangriga is interesting to visit just to experience life in a sleepy Belize town with strong Garifuna culture. But there aren't a lot of attractions, so to speak. The Garifuna museum was closed (unexpectedly), which was a main thing I wanted to see, so that was disappointing. The drumming night at Seavana was great, all locals. A little out of town you can try all the hot sauces at Marie Sharp's. You might be able to catch a boat tour to do some fishing or snorkeling (but probably nothing you can't get out of Hopkins). It's probably best to come to Dangriga when there are specific events, like Settlement Day, or Christmas Eve/Day. Otherwise there's not much going on.

The town is very nice, a little bit underdeveloped but you can see the great possibilities for growth there. Not a posh place for sure, but pretty friendly and picturesque. Good food, a laid-back atmosphere.

Stay here, if you have to (e.g. on the way to somewhere else). The town has nothing to offer and the beach really isn't nice (sand, but not the nice white one, and in the water it is shallow and muddy and there is garbage on the shore).

Good value, clean, basic necessities. Check-in was a little wait and get help at the hotel door, check-out was easy and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Loved the sounds of the waves just outside our bedroom window.

Clean and friendly, a great overnight stop-gap for a hot shower and a good sleep in a comfy bed at the end of a sailing trip that left us in Dangriga. Gerzon on the front desk was particularly helpful.
