The place was very comfortable and had everything we needed to cook something and even a kitchen island to eat at. The tv was easy to use and had Netflix. There was even a bowl of snacks for us to eat, which we enjoyed very much. There is a terrific Indian restaurant in town. It was also very quiet and the hostess was responsive to our needs.

We stayed here on our first night on Vancouver Island, on our way up to the northern part of the island. It was a good location for that as we could get on Canada One without driving through Victoria in the morning. The beds were comfortable. They had good climate control for the room.

Hotel is overpriced considering the location next to Cosco and breakfast not included.

The grounds at this resort were beyond my expectation. Not only were they incredibly beautiful, there was easy access to the ocean, wildlife, and nature. It was a dream spot, that I hope to go back to some day!

We spent a wonderful six days at Birds of a Feather with out two teenage grandchildren. We all loved it. We did early morning and sunset walks on the near by beach. I'm avavid sea kayaker and enjoy staying here right on the water with an outside shower for me to rinse my gear after paddling. The breakfasts were superb!! Dieter and Paphada were exceptional host.

We picked this location as it was close to family in Langford, and also, so our son could try surfing in Jordan River and Sombrio beach. Enjoyed some of the local restaurants but the traffic congestion getting to Sooke from Victoria, Langford, and highway 1 is brutal, even outside of rush hour times.

Definitely had to upgrade from what Booking.com booked for us. It was the lowest quality room they had. The service and staff were excellent. After upgrading to an ocean view and balcony the bedroom and bathroom were very good size but the bed was way too hard. I had to stack up the towels to make it softer for my hips. The restaurant service was good, the chef even spiced up my tuna bowl for me. Even for October the gardens were beautiful with fire pots and comfy chairs. Nice veranda with beautiful view from the restaurant. Good happy hour menu and drinks list. Beautiful place to go to in October. Excellent resort for weddings.

Most noted was lack of signage to direct tourists to the sights outlined in the travel brochure for the area.
Very heavy traffic on the highway thru the main street town. Local retailers and people we met were very nice and accommodated our queries about the area. Will visit again. Trail to Sandcut Beach was a beautiful rain forest experience. Mile 14 and 17 Mile Pub are very nice restaurants with a variety menu. Sooke Brewing Co. and Sooke Oceanside Brewery both have excellent craft brews available.

Great hiking from Aylard's Farm.
Great hiking from Aylard's Farm. A lovely view from Sooke Point and there is a short hiking trail there too leading to a splendid view point and a small beach. Port Renfrew worth visiting because of the Botany Bay and Botanical Beach. All beaches between Sooke and Port Renfrew are worth seeing. We finished our stay with the trail along the river -Sooke Potholes.
Great pizza oven baked in Shirley.

Visit to Sooke Potholes, an area on the Sooke river. In the river gorge with various natural pools to swim in.
Not touristy, very friendly locals, both hospitality staff and public we met out walking.
Nice eateries, but some closed Monday & Tuesday.
Great and special experience, very comfortable beds, relaxing hot pot and gas fire place, good BBQ, total silence by night (you cannot even hear the fridge which is rare...), no mosquitos and very friendly owners. We also enjoyed the location nearby to the sooke NP (to the East) and beaches (to the West).
This was a great spot! The view of the Sooke Basin from the window of The Captain's Perch was stellar. You could walk out onto the Galloping Goose Trail from the backyard. The bed was very comfortable. The hot tub also overlooked the Sooke Basin and the sunsets were gorgeous.
It was even better than the pictures on the site.
The kitchen had everything family could wish for.
Real flowers on the table, small gift was waiting for us (macaron cookies).
Sheryl was awesome, helpful.
The room was comfortable and the beds as well. We went to the hotel's restaurant for drinks and enjoyed a wonderful view, great cocktails and a yummy bucket of shrimps!
