Offering free WiFi, a sun terrace with a swimming pool, private beach area and free bikes, Hotel Las Islas is located in Barú. The views and facilities are 5 star. The various choice in rooms to fit your budget and mood make the place by far the place to stay in Baru. We chose the oceanfront room with affinity pool! AMAZING! I have been to Baru 3 times previously. The staff goes out of their way to accomodate your every need and with a smile on their faces. The manager Carlos was a class act and even arranged a boat to take my friends who were staying at another hotel in Baru to and from dinner at Las Islas. They also provide personal bikes for every guest to travel this vast island oasis or will glady pick you up instead in one of their many golf carts if you ren’t up for the excercise. A must stay in Baru
Located on the beachfront in Barú, Hotel Alejandro Express has a bar. Guests can enjoy sea views. At the hotel, all rooms come with a terrace. The private bathroom is equipped with a shower. Right on the beach, perfect view of the sunset. Carlos and Mauricio were very friendly, and helpful. Gave good advice on how to travel, and also let you know when people were trying to take advantage of you with their pricing. The food was also very good.
Baru Playa Eco Beach Resort features 656 feet of private white sand beach and free WiFi access in public areas. It is located in Barú Peninsula (an island), 20 minutes’ drive from Barbacoas Bay. This place is paradise! We loved it! The staff was super kind and made as feel in heaven
Hotel Sport Barú offers a private beach access in the tropical island of Barú, in Cholon´s Cove. All rooms are surrounded by trees and provide ultimate peace and quiet. There's not a single thing I didn't like. It was perfect for me, because I like small hotels with great attention the guests, where staff is nice and it feels comfortable. It's really apart from everything and here you can definetly chill. The restaurant has great food, there's a free boat to a nice beach everyday, transfers and visits can be arranged (ask for Jaime, the best driver guide ever, he really made our stay in Cartagena much better). The sunset and sunrise feel like a poem in this place... and don't miss the trip to the bright plancton beach. Definetly will go back!
Set on a charming building with a pool on the Baru Island, Hotel Agua Azul Beach Resort features private access to the beach. A restaurant is featured and breakfast is provided. We had the the beach to ourselves. Private, beautiful, quite, peaceful. Crystal blue water. Amazing. The 7 room boutique hotel was charming, it had air conditioning and a pool. Very nice and clean. It is not contemporary looking. But it's well maintained. Didn't know this exsisted. Staff of 5 very friendly. Gloria was amazing. My family loved it - 2 seniors 2 college students and 2 teenagers. If you are looking to get away from people, this is the place to go. A must see, If you go to Cartagena. Bring sunscreen, bug spray and a book to read. We rented jet skiis from the locals. We just relaxed, destressed, family bonding. We had a blast. Highly recommended. "Baru, we will miss you!
Playa Scondida is a rustic-style eco lodge on Baru Island, 1 hour from Cartagena by motorboat. Thank you Diana and Willman for the exceptional service! You made my visit to Baru a memorable one. I will certainly be back.

Baru is rapidly being developed as a “Hamptons NY” destination. Balancing the natural beauty and human impact is clearly challenging. It is a beautiful part of the (Cartagena environs) Bolívar district. Getting around Baru -unreliable... ask hotelier fir taxi or til-yuk arrangements.
Service was great. Friendly people. Great food. Quiet. Good AC. Nice views. Spa prices very reasonable. Misquitoes were terrible. Repellent we bought from the reception desk didn't seem to help much. Dining is outdoors which made dinner problematic as were we're constantanly swatting the misquitoes. Very few spoke English but everyone managed just fine. Non motorized sport equipment provided without cost, but it is pretty dated. Beach is small but they will boat you to a larger beach 10 minutes away for a couple of hours a day free of charge. Lots of lounging chairs available. Enjoyed watching the flocks of parrots flying about.
The most beautiful beach ever! Easy going, great weather and water, the crowds are not as bad as they say. There is no WiFi anywhere (that actually works) most places are cash only - due to the lack of WiFi.
Aside from the vendors at Playa Blanca, the beach is relaxing and also has beautiful water. Avoid beach on festive days when people most people are off as the beach gets very crowded! The entrance to the beach is a bit of a walk so be prepared. The bird sanctuary is a must! Our hotel helped us arrange a day trip to other islands, where we snorkelled as well. If your trip allows it timewise it's a beautiful day trip to do!
The atmosphere and the surroundinga were great, but the beaches weren't as expected. The hotel doesn't have a pool and that will be a plus because the beaches have a lot of plants and they are muddy. The weather is extremely hot in May, but the nights are awesome. The room was nice and very "natural" because the windows had screens instead of glass and you could hear the sounds of the animals at night. The air conditioning was very good even though there were no glass windows. All in all the hotel was good. Last but not least the staff was very kind and helpful.
Pésima experiencia. Cuando llegue al hotel me dijeron que no tenía reserva y me tocó pagar mucho más en hotel cercano en el cual no tenía reserva previa. No lo recomiendo en ningún caso. Poca seriedad con más Reservas de booking.

One of the best experiences I ever had at Hostel Media Luna Baru. Initially I went there with a bit of doubts, as I couldn't understand much about the location, but once I got there, I relaxed and it was great. The staff is very very friendly, the food absolutely amazing and the beach very nice. They have their own transport from and to Cartagena for a decent price. If you are not a ''nature'' person, maybe would be better to leave all your fears at home.

Excellent location. Very reccomended if you're looking for quiet vacation. The hotel has only 5 rooms and a private beach. It is very quiet, perfect to relax 2-3 days. Very friendly staff that makes you feel like at home. Special mention to Cesar, the cook, which prepares amazing food. Also reccomended to rent a jet ski and explore the are around Baru and islands.

All the staff was always really nice with us. The food was good and healthy. This solution in Barù is good to relax and to “recharge batteries”. The Hotel is only 5 minutes far from Playa Blanca and you can get there easily with a TucTuc driven by Francisco. The structure also offer the possibility to organize a boat trip to discover Rosario Islands.

Excellent! Very comfortable and beautiful hotel in an outstanding location. Allows contact and connection with nature. Contemplative turism, very relaxing. We stayed in sea view bungalow with private pool (sea water). Amazing ! I was worried about mosquitos as the hotel is in a mangrove area to my surprise there were almost none! Highly recommended !

The property and house was spectacular. Extremely Spacious and private, with only the beach and ocean In front of you. Everything is very well appointed, but quite remote and few options offered for transportation to/from which can be very challenging and expensive.

Not your typical hotel experience, but it was amazing to wake up with the sea sounds...you will share your bathroom, which it was ok for me,. the staff is amazing, and the food too! Excellent time....the host recommended a tour and we did it at night, worth every penny...

I travelled a lot, in hostels & hotels and would like to give valuable and transparent feedback. From a Hostel Point of view: it‘s okay, because it‘s clean, the staff is very helpful and beds are good.
