Privado y calmado. Perfrcto para familias y pareja!
Baru is not yet ready for international travelers. The harassment from the local vendors borders on scary (from the parking lot attendants to the beach vendors). The beach is not clean to the standards of other Caribbean beaches (bottle caps, dead fish etc.) Boat and jetski traffic are not controlled, and drive too close to the shore, so the smell of fuel is constantly in the air. If you have been to a top-quality beach anywhere in the world, you will be disappointed by Baru. I hope they make improvements in the coming years.
Very nice remote island with bright clear water and nice beaches Few nice and good restaurants but have to be street smart and double check prices Vendors could be fiind annoying but you will be ok with a little bit Spanish If you go to relax playa Baru is not the perfect place to relax
I wish I could find something wrong but its too nice to be true but every thing was super I dont know how they can mantain suck an hotel in the middle of the jungle the owner must be a genius how he build it and the excellent of the conditions of the hotel that all works very good congratulations
Casa Córdoba Baru is a charming, quiet, slightly aged but well kept, clean and well equipped resort off the beaten track, void of lots of tourists, loud music, and obligatory battle for the beach staff. The staff is very accommodating, polite and helpful. Breakfast (complimentary) was good and food choices for lunch and dinner are plenty and affordable whereas alcoholic beverages and drinks are expensive. The resort is, as many reviews suggest and management acknowledges, difficult to reach so it is important to contact the resort in advance to arrange for a properly equipped taxi (COP 170k from Cartagena). The rooms are nice (we had a junior suite with queen size bed) but mattress was uncomfortable. Management arranged for boat trip to Rosaip Island for COP 130k p. P. Which was worth it if Just for snorkeling (amazing diversity of colorful reef fish!). Lastly, make surety book a massage (COP 120k p. P. ) with Carmen - divine!! All in all, Wort while if you seek true relaxation!!!
The water was gorgeous! The sun was shining, it was warm, and the boat ride was not nauseating. Each person was given a chaleco, life jacket, but each had a broken clip or strap. They all need mending. However the boat ride was safe and a little wet as is common. The stops were mind-blowing - the islands where Shakira and Carlos Vives have homes pleasantly surprised me as I'm a big fan of both, and the party island at Rosario was mind-blowing! Waist high water that you wade through to purchase drinks, food, and hang out at tables constructed in that waist high water. Boats circle the "water bars" in a sort of boat parking lot. It's quite the sight to see for extroverts who are ready to party and dance in the water. The second stop was more tranquil and you could spend more time enjoying the gorgeous water, sand and sun. So, a stop for each type of experience, which I thought was wonderful. Spent about 45 minutes at each location.
The staff was super friendly & accommodating. They made special arrangements for my boyfriend’s birthday by decorating our room, getting a cake from the mainland & setting up a beautiful candlelit lobster dinner on the dock! It was the perfect tropical romantic getaway! I can’t wait to go back. Just bring snorkel gear with you.
