Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the lodge - the level of service by Xavier and the team is 5 star. Our room was simple but cosy and we only slept in it as there is a glorious mess room on the first floor. Here you can use the kitchen to prep your own food but we opted for the three course evening dinner at for $7.50 As a vegan with food intolerances, I'm always worried, but I felt very confident that my needs would be met. They didn't mind me bringing vegan extras to breakfast, like oat milk, spread, hummus, etc. At night a wood fire is lit which smells amazing and there are comfy sofas to curl up on. We used the taxi service to and from the lodge and the price was reasonable and service prompt. We also had a great tour to Lago Limpiopunga. The WiFi was exceptional and my husband and I were able to run our business from 4,000 miles away. We're in our sixties and were by far the eldest guests but felt very much at home. I'm afraid Cotopaxi didn't behave and was covered in cloud, but hey, ho, such is the coyness of volcanoes.

The house is new and beautiful. Marcia, the owner, is very friendly, helpful and speaks English very well. The breakfast was fantastic and plentiful. From the backyard you can see Cotopaxi and Iliniza volcano. Plenty of space inside and outside.

Everything was amazing! The communication from booking to arriving was great on how to get to the accommodation! The staff were so friendly and helpful! When we checked in we were given a bigger room to make our stay more comfortable! The restaurant on site is great and the food was all delicious including the breakfast which had a good selection to choose from! The animals on site were a very cute touch! Lots of chickens and ducks, and 2 Llamas that were very friendly and we got to feed carrots! They also can help with tours - we did the Cotopaxi base camp walk/hike - it was just us two with the guide and great value including lunch! They also offer affordable laundry!

The staff were amazing, attentive and helpful. The family made sure that the fire was always going to keep us warm, gave us milk for teas and coffees daily and made sure all our other needs were met. The cooking was £8 per person and did not disappoint, it was very delicious and filling.
