Encasa Hotel Almansa is located in Almansa, next to the A-31 high-way in the service area Cruz Blanca. This family-run 3-star offers free WiFi throughout the property. The staff were very friendly and spoke English. Although on a main thoroughfare, the rooms were sound- proofed which led to a good night's sleep. As I was walking the Camino Levante, the location was perfect as the start of the next stage was right outside the front door. 10 out of 10. Nil.
Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Finca El Romeral is set in Alpera, 16 mi from Almansa. Free private parking is available on site. The accommodations features a flat-screen TV. After two year we returned to this finca and wondered why we hadn't gone back sooner. Our stay was extraordinarily good. Set in vineyards off the beaten track with plenty of walking, bird watching, etc. The rooms were of a good size, plenty of storage space, pretty decorated and an oh! so comfortable bed. The en suite was large, modern and all functioned well. The evening meal was superb, much to our taste, with fresh local produce and good local wine. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly due in greater part to the courtesy and friendliness of the host. We would highly recommend.
Located in Montealegre del Castillo, Hotel Gardu offers a bar. With a restaurant, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Every room has a balcony. Very friendly staff and great service. Perfect place to rest before another leg of the Camino de Sureste to Santiago.
Almansa is a small, quiet town, in between Albacete and Valencia, with a beautiful old centre and lots of cosy bars and restaurants serving local food and wines. The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking and hiking. The "castillo" is very impressive.
At first on approach it looks nothing special apart from the castle. But be patient: surrounded by supermarkets, a hospital, hotels and many other services it is highly convenient, especially for motorway travel. Go into the centre and you will find a wonderful shady square with plenty of bars and full of life. Good restaurants of various kinds are dotted around the town and a host of practical shops for home building are also dotted around. Apart from wine growing Almansa is famous for shoe making. Try the big shops as you approach from the motorway. Quality is wonderful.
Quiet property, large room and good food at restaurant
