This is absolutely the finest hotel stay along the Camino de Santiago. The room was modern, exceptionally comfortable, had very high quality linens, a private enclosed terrace, and a view of the river. The staff was superb and the restaurant was absolutely exceptional. One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten anywhere. The chef is a master and his creations were divine. I would visit Cacabelos again just to stay at this amazing hotel. Do not hesitate to book!

This is a gem of a property! It is right on the Camino and the spacious and beautifully-appointed room I had included very comfortable beds with nice sheets. Its accompanying bathroom was also big and modern. I requested laundry service while there, a little luxury for those on the Camino, and was pleased with it. The thing that stands out here the most though is the delicious food served at its restaurant. A chance just to eat at it makes going to this property worth it!

Finca Esencial is a beautifully renovated property right on the Camino de Santiago that has thought of every possible detail to provide a most pleasant experience, beautiful rooms that feature both the properties stone walls and wooden windows combined with state of the area bathrooms and amenities. Views of the countryside and vineyards can be appreciated in every room. Roland and Raquel are a gem, perfect hosts of the upmost kindness, while doing the Camino we experienced a knee issue that prevented us from arriving on foot like originally planned, Roland picked us up from the nearby town and also helped us get closer to town for our meals. And the breakfast was delicious. Thank you Roland and Raquel for giving us such a wonderful experience that will become cherished memories.

The dinner and breakfast were made with love and were delicious. The hosts were lovely and friendly and made every effort to make us happy and comfortable They shared great information about amazing places to go and visit. Their home is full with beautiful art, books and antiques. A very peaceful place. We would definitely come and stay again the next time we visit Spain.

Great place to stay if you are doing the Camino. Restaurant food was ok staff friendly The room said includes washing machine but you had to pay for washing machine it was not included We had a balcony but we were behind the street rooms so it was a bit unusual We had a 30 degree day by the river which was relaxing

Cacabelos is a medieval village, surrounded by wineries.

Cacabelos is a medieval village, surrounded by wineries. It is situated some 7 kms from Ponferrada and exactly on the pilgrim road to Santiago de Compostela. The village offers a lot of facilities, shops etc. I stayed in Hotel Villa de Cacabelos. Good !

The hotel was great in all aspects. Top location, direct on the Camino Frances. Friendly staff. Nice restaurant/terras outside, but in the shade among the flowers and plants, The menu card showing excellent local dishes and wines. Also an pleasant indoor restaurant with bar selling cold beers and biological ice creams. Comfortable room with cool climate control. Large bathroom.

Very nice accommodations on the Camino. The whole hotel seems to really new, very clean, very modern. Right on the river. Beautiful back patio area next to the bar. Bathroom very ample, well stocked. After a very hot day, the shower (and ample bathroom as a whole) was well appreciated.
