Set in Ligny-Thilloy, 24 mi from Douai, À la ferme de Thilloy offers a shared lounge and free WiFi. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and a hairdryer. This is an exceptional bed and breakfast wish I could have stayed longer, amazing rooms and wonderful hosts
Aux Chants des Oiseaux is located in Ligny-Thilloy and offers a garden and a terrace. The accommodations is 24 mi from Lens, and guests benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. After the warm welcome of the owners, we had a perfect stop (on our way home) in this clean and cosy house with the playgarden for the children on the other site of the street. All we needed was present! Thank you Melanie and Frédéric and we will absolutely keep you in mind for a next time!
The Silent Picket is located in Martinpuich, in the heart of the Somme Battlefields. Jan and John are perfect hosts, loaded with local knowledge and easy to talk with. We had dinner on the first night which was 10 out of 10 so lovely a d the food just coming
Located in the area of the World War I Somme Battlefields, Maison de campagne en Picardie offers accommodations in Courcelette with free WiFi and garden views. Absolutely superb accommodation and so easy to book and visit, this has probably been the best relaxed visit to France loved it and hope I can visit again
Maison de campagne en Picardie (6) is set in Courcelette. The property is 24 mi from Cambrai, and complimentary private parking is offered. Good location for WWI memorial trail visit. Spacious, well lit, quiet (if country 'music' like rooster crowing is ok for you).
La Clé des Champs is located in Longueval and offers free bikes. The accommodations is 27 mi from Arras, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. Our hosts were very friendly, and the property was a lot larger than it looks from the photos.
A nice small town with a good selection of shops. Would certainly recommend the chocolate shop where chocolates were offered as soon as we entered the shop. Make a nice gift or better still eat yourself.
Bapaume is a small, quiet town with few if any signs of tourism. Authentic local shops and supermarket. An ideal location, however, for anyone wanting to visit the Somme battlefields: Arras, Albert, Amiens, Cambrai and Peronne are all within easy travelling distance. Take your children there for an immersion into the history and atmospheric sense of place generated by the numerous graveyards containing the remains of British, Australian, Canadian, NZ, SA, French - and German - combatants in the Great War of 1914-1919.
Quaint and qwerky little town. Right in the centre of the very moving WWI cemeteries; Bapaume is a dignified and humble home to an Australian memorial, and is a great base if you wish to explore and see similar.
The staff is extremly helpfull. The hotel is very clean. Good place to stay for a so gle Night. The room is too small and the food in the restaurant is really not worth the money. Go have a burger just next to the hotel.
The town is very close to the historical First World War Battlefields. Interesting first world war artifacts to be seen in the town. Plus interesting French bars filled with french blokes who say bof! Statue in the town square was used as target practice by the Germans.
A very relaxed little town, we met only friendly people who went out of there way to help even with my abysmal French. Only 2 restaurants in the town, one was in the hotel, the menu was varied and met all requirements
