La Chaymiere Roz-Aven is located in Pont-Aven on the banks of the Aven River. This 16th-century thatched cottage is offers individually-decorated rooms with free Wi-Fi access. This place became my home very quickly. I originally booked for just 2 nights and then kept adding more nights because I didn’t want to leave. Ended up staying almost 2 weeks! The room and hotel overall is super clean, comfortable and cozy. It has a restaurant that serves excellent breakfast and lunch (the chef is super talented and she is so nice!) and delicious homemade desserts all day with a full bar serving great selections for liquor, beer, wine, coffee and tea (the green Provence tea was awesome). The girls who serve here are incredibly happy and friendly. It was genuinely nice to see them every day. The owners are very professional and give you complete privacy while also checking to be sure you always have what you need. I slept with the windows open to listen to the sound of the river and birds and ducks. The center of town with tons of delicious food options is super close (definitely go to Maison Georges Larnicol for chocolate, their dark chocolate selection is so good and the owner is super kind). There is also an awesome hiking/walking/running trail 5 mins away (past Mimosas, also excellent) that will lead you down to Kerdruc and all the way to the ocean at Port Manech if you want a good workout. It’s a beautiful trail in the woods along the river. I could write a lot more. It was a perfect place to stay. Pont-Aven is a beautiful and special little village. The river, the people, the food, the art and music - it is the perfect place to find peace, comfort, creativity and inspiration.

A delightful picturesque Impressionist village. Felt off the beaten path in many ways. I was comfortable on my own for a few days, taking in the atmosphere and scenery that delighted the Impressionist artists of a century ago. Magnifique!
Lovely and charming place with a great place in the history of modern art, but you share it with almost too many other tourists - there's a parking problem in spite of the generous spaces the town provides. If you want peace and quiet, stay a little outside, for example at Kerangoi. Good restaurants - don't miss lunch at the Italian place on the river path in town.
If you love art history, shopping, museums, good food and long ambling walks, Pont Aven is the perfect location for a couple of days away from the rat race. The focal point of the ancient town is the bubbling stream that meanders past many quaint vernacular buildings and mills. It is so picturesque it is not surprising that the artists flocked to Pont Aven to paint, they must have been so inspired. We stayed and ate at the sublime Moulin de Rosemadec, situated on an island in the centre of the aforementioned stream. It was like waking up in a fairy tale.
We came to Pont-Aven for a wedding; otherwise we would never have known about this really nice little town in the middle of Brittany, France. Well known for its painters and the school of painting of Pont-Aven. Gaugin and other famous painters spent time here. A great museum that displays the artwork is a must to see. Great little stores selling all kinds of goods, clothes and the famous Pont-Aven biscuits. The town has lots of Crepe-restaurants. Another trademark of the area. Cobble stone streets and a pretty river going though town. Lots of medieval churches etc in the neighborhood and other small towns in the area. Get a car and drive around the area.

Manoir de Kerangosquer is perfectly situated within the greater Pont-Aven area. We enjoyed walking into town on the riverside path, as well as taking short car rides to various other towns. The beaches in this area are wild and beautiful and HUGE. Really a special slice of the world that we were lucky enough to experience.

The room was very large with a verandah overlooking trees and a valley behind the hotel. The bathroom was large with a bath and shower and was clean and modern. The steep walk down to the port brought you out at an excellent spot with a very short walk to restaurants and bars.
