With city views, Courtyard at Crail is set in Crail and has free WiFi. Absolutely first class accommodation, everything so new and clean. Also, parking right on your doorstep. Lovely large kitchen with everything you would need to cook in (although why would you!). Added bonus of having Netflix too. Fantastic value for money.
Crail is a small quiet fishing village with lots of character..quaint cottages and a lot of history. The people are extremely friendly. It would be quite difficult 4 wheelchair users as it is hilly to get to various points and some little cobbled streets. We ate in our hotel..the golf hotel..and found the food good and reasonably priced. Well spaced out in the dining room and in the beer garden at the back. Again advice for wheelchair users to check as there are a few steps in the hotel. I cannot think of anything i would avoid if visiting again
Stayed there as we were going to a wedding and was easily accessible for Kingsbarns /St Andrews. Idyllic location with lovely beach, harbour and coastal path walk. Crail is also very handy for Anstruther with its beautiful restaurants and Elie with the stunning beach. Would recommend The Ship Inn at Elie as the food there was delicious. All in all the East Neuk is a very picturesque part of Scotland.
This is my 4th stay in Crail in recent years and it is a beautiful place with great access to the Fife Coastal Route. The village itself is lovely and the villagers are so friendly also. Location makes it ideal for visiting other places in the East neuk of Fife such as St Andrews, Elie and Anstruther amongst others. The beaches are stunning ! Crail is a perfect place to escape to from city life, unwind, chill and relax.
A very pretty coastal village on the East Neuk of Fife, within easy reach of other historic towns on the coast. Our favourite places are Crail, St.Monans, Pittenweem and Anstruther. Elie is lovely too, but places for lunch seem to be limited, and the town seemed to be closed on a Monday. We enjoyed looking around the harbour in Dysart near Kirkaldy. From Crail it's only 10 miles from St.Andrews, another lovely and historic town with superb beaches. Best to avoid the Dunhill Cup championships in September though, unless you are a keen golf fanatic with money to burn! There is a superb putting green here called The Himalayas, unfortunately closed because of the Dunhill Cup.
Scenic location; good walking trails nearby; pottery was good and local whole food shop was excellent. Nearby Pittenweem, Coop, May island cruise, Ardross Farm shop and St Fillan's cave plus St Monan's church all worth a visit.
The harbour has World Heritage status and probably one of the most photogenic places in the world. Beautiful old buildings, lovely wee shops, some great places to eat and stay, and within easy reach of all the other wee picturesque East Neuk villages, and of course St Andrew's! Plenty of good golf too if you're into that!
