With unique views of the South Somerset countryside, in a peaceful lakeside, river and garden location, Haselbury Mill has beautiful historical buildings and superb food. Great comfortable place to stay and very interesting. The food is fabulous and very reasonable! As a previous guest stated it the staff who set it apart!
Located in Crewkerne, The Crooked Swan features a restaurant, bar, garden, and free WiFi. The hotel has family rooms. Guest rooms in the hotel are equipped with a kettle. Room was incredible. The bathrooms are a dream. The staff are exceptional - as in, text book exceptional. Welcoming and friendly.
Set in Crewkerne, 21 mi from Dorchester, The Old Stagecoach Inn offers a restaurant and free WiFi. Fitted with a patio, the units feature a TV and a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. The room was comfy and clean. Very nice looking. And the staff was very friendly and helpful. The lady even asked us in the night when we got in if we have eaten as it was Sunday night.
Located in Crewkerne in the Somerset region, Romantic Rural Retreats features a patio and garden views. Great little hut with modern facilities. Hot tub is an excellent addition to sit out of an evening and get a beautiful view of the stars. Local to a couple of cute little village pubs.
The whole set up was very unusual with the owners different vehicle dotted around the estate. A good choice of menus. The food was exceptional and very good value for money. There are two bars and two restaurants to choose from. The people were very friendly and made you feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.
Small town with some lovely old buildings, full of character. Interesting independent shops, e.g. bookshop, and cafes. Also larger shops like Waitrose and LIDL in town centre, where the main car park, but nicely hidden from the historic area.
Small but historic town, fantastic food and atmosphere in the White Hart Inn, shame about the snobby reception and service in the Crooked Swan. Crewekerne would be a lovely little base for travellers and walkers visiting the area.
Crewkerne is a very friendly and beautiful small town. It is very picturesque, has some wonderful walking routes, especially Bincombe Beaches Nature Reserve. I can't think of anything negative.
Lovely souroundings with a stream running through the grounds and plenty of wild life around the area. The food is very good and plenty of it. The village is just down the road and a good walking area.
The town itself is a bit shabby but not unpleasantly so and it only adds to its country charm. There are smart new amenities and a Waitrose in the centre with other independent shops , eating places and coffee houses, antique centres so should be looked at as up and coming . Unfortunately our experience of Crewkerne was marred by our stay at our hotel, The George , although the embarrassed though professional staff did their best given the circumstances , and I would like to think that once the ongoing refurbishment is over and the kitchen is up and running again serving a cooked breakfast as advertised, it will be a great addition to the town.
