With unique views of the South Somerset countryside, in a peaceful lakeside, river and garden location, Haselbury Mill has beautiful historical buildings and superb food. We live in Berkshire and this was a 60th Birthday present from relatives who live in Haselbury Plucknett! such a surprise. We loved everything! We will come back!
Located in Crewkerne, The Crooked Swan features a restaurant, bar, garden, and free WiFi. The hotel has family rooms. Guest rooms in the hotel are equipped with a kettle. Room was incredible. Set in Crewkerne, 21 mi from Dorchester, The Old Stagecoach Inn offers free WiFi. Fitted with a patio, the units feature a TV and a private bathroom with shower, free toiletries, towels and bed linen.... Lorraine and Joe really made us welcome, excellent breakfast and full value for money. Good base to explore Dorset and Devon. We will return again.
Located in Crewkerne in the Somerset region, Romantic Rural Retreats features a patio and garden views. Great little hut with modern facilities. Hot tub is an excellent addition to sit out of an evening and get a beautiful view of the stars. Local to a couple of cute little village pubs.
A market town that is easy to get around. Lots of characteristic buildings with a fabulous old church which is well worth a visit. Crewkerne is situated in South East Somerset, close to West Dorset and East Devon. There are several brilliant places to visit such as Montacute House (NT) and Forde Abbey as well as a 40 minute drive to beautiful Lyme Regis. The towns roads can get a bit busy as it sits on the A30. Street parking is generally limited to 2 hours, but there are a few public car parks and these offer generous fees at just £2.15 per day. Look out for the numerous blue plaques on buildings that tell stories and the history associated with the place.
The George is a fine place to locate: a pleasant town and fairly easy to get to several nearby seaside destinations. Staff extremely courteous and helpful, creating a pleasant atmosphere in charming surroundings.
Crewkerne is a lovely little Somerset town and, whilst not much going on there at the moment as just coming out of lockdown, it's a great location from which to explore Somerset, Dorset and South Devon. We stayed in the Crooked Swan which was a lovely quirky pub/hotel and the food was absolutely superb and excellent value for money.
Quaint, small market type town with good amenities with very good road links. Plenty of off street parking at very good rates. The George Hotel is a listed building located in the central market square area, surrounded by local shops and eateries..
The whole set up was very unusual with the owners different vehicle dotted around the estate. A good choice of menus. The food was exceptional and very good value for money. There are two bars and two restaurants to choose from. The people were very friendly and made you feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.
Small town with some lovely old buildings, full of character. Interesting independent shops, e.g. bookshop, and cafes. Also larger shops like Waitrose and LIDL in town centre, where the main car park, but nicely hidden from the historic area.
