Just off the A1 and 3 miles from Pontefract town center, in the Yorkshire countryside, Darrington by Good Night Inns features a restaurant and free parking. It is 2 miles from Pontefract Racecourse. Very nice size room and updated. Extremely clean and very friendly staff. Great restaurant attached.
Around 10 minutes’ walk from the town center, Tower House Executive Guest House in Pontefract provides award-winning bed and breakfast in West Yorkshire. The room was very well furnished with many facilities. Indeed, it would put many high rated hotels to shame. Breakfast was cooked to order and very good value at £5.
Set in Knottingley, The Hawthornes Licensed Guest House features a bar, shared lounge, garden, and free WiFi throughout the property. Lovely place to stay, spacious room with everything you need. Only booked it a few hours before I arrived and everything was all ready for me. The owner is super friendly as well!
Barley Mow Hotel is located in Pontefract and features a bar. The hotel also provides free WiFi and free private parking. At the hotel, every room comes with a desk and a flat-screen TV. Breakfast was okay, and the location was not bad either. Patient, friendly and helpful male Greek member of staff who received me.
Not a lot else to say really. As a business traveller, this place was ideal, just off the A1M and ideally placed for Leeds, Bradford, Wetherby etc. In what appears to be a rural location with fields all around but a half mile walk gets you into the village with a couple of local pubs Pleasant all round and really friendly and helpful staff. Wifi in the room was good too!
Excellent location comfortable rooms the staff were brilliant from start to finish rooms were clean . Although the shower worked fine I think an upgrade is needed on the shower's other than that I cannot find fault with the hotel
Good location for where we were visiting We ate breakfast in the restaurant of the hotel which was nice and clean. The rooms and staff were awful. Rude and unfriendly. dirty, dusty and dim bedrooms with lumpy stained beds and walls. People had been smoking in there previous to us. Towels were stained. Carpets were coming up from the floor trying to leave them selves! Just awful and over priced. 2/10
I was staying at this hotel as I was attending a course in south elmsall for 3 days. On arrival we were greeted by a really friendly receptionist who showed us to our room which was upstairs. I was needing WiFi to do work whilst I was away and free WiFi seemed great! Unfortunately the WiFi did not connect upstairs. We went back to reception who explained the had issues with the WiFi on the first floor I explained I needed WiFi and we were moved downstairs (we had to vacate the room the next day as someone requested room 3 then we moved to room 4 the next night) The rooms are so dated and poorly decorated also the bathrooms were so old fashioned. The rooms were clean There was limited plug sockets in both rooms. We wanted extra pillows that were in the wardrobe but there were not clean. The beds were uncomfortable and could hear every noise from the room above. We can’t fault the staff super friendly and the food was really good in the restaurant
Good for quick overnight stop if you driving up/ down the A1. Very noisy from traffic on A1 Basicsmall rooms, comfy beds, plentiful parking& outdoor areas, but whole site poorly maintained &cleaned. Hungry Horse pub grub is in house for a welcome beer& wine but Menu full of usual HH big fatty cheap meal offers
Good basic hotel offering decent food and bar/ social area. Staff friendly and helpful, nice looking hotel. Attended a reunion at the hotel and had dinner there. Food was fine. Bar prices reasonable.
Very nice size room and updated. Extremely clean and very friendly staff. Great restaurant attached.
