Dunfermline line is a quiet and clean city, people appears friendly and helpful when needed. Very good number of shops and restaurants are available. The transportation system is also good but descriptions on bus stops not well marked out like we have in London and the frequency of buses are a bit far apart. Next time when travelling I'll travel by train not bus, as buses journey is too long.
I love Dunfermline as I was brought up there and stayed there for many years. The hotel was great, comfortable room with beautiful shower and facilities however as the property is on the main High Street I found it rather noisy late at night however on speaking to staff they did say that if I stay there again to ask for a specific room which is located at the back. The food was cheap and plentiful, the beer was cheap and overall a very comfortable stay.
Dunfermline is the ancient capital of Scotland, burial place of seven Scottish Kings including King Robert The Bruce . King Charles 1 was born in the Palace now a ruin which lies partly in the grounds of Pittencrieff Park an estate bought by Andrew Carnegie and gifted to the townspeople. Carnegie’s Birthplace and museum are well worth a visit. The library and museum nearby have blended old and new architecture to maximum use. Entertainment venues include Carnegie Hall and the Alhambra Theatre. Dunfermline has good public transport Links to Edinburgh Perth and Glasgow. There are many restaurants in the city serving food from around the world.
Dunfermiline is a great place to visit. Pittencrieff Park is lovely, The Abbey and palace are worth a look, as is the Carnegie Library and galleries. Picturesque town hall and clock tower. Many eating places and pubs.
Dunfermline Is one of my family ancestral homes, so a very special to me with ancestors buried in the Abbey graveyard. But even without that, the Abbey is a historical treasure and has recently been given special attention by Historic Scotland, with new lighting in the ancient abbey nave and new areas opened up to the public including a stone exhibition and storyboards. It is well worth a morning or afternoon visit and time with the knowledgeable volunteer guides who can show you where the royal tombs are.
dunfermline is great but not this family or make shift loft very threatening and intimidating a child half dressed let us into the property if you read the reviews from other people i would say stay well clear of this place they have sent me threats nothing in pictures are there or available i’m shocked booking.com has been associated to this place
Lovely modern looking hotel, few mins from the main hustle and bustle of dunfermline. Free parking is always a bonus to myself when i choose to stay somewhere. Was a great price we paid for a last min family trip. The check in staff was lovely and was super quick in bringing a travel cot round to the toom when there wasnt already one there like we requested. Even set it up for us which was super nice! The heating was on so the rolm was lovwly and warm, the wifi worked really well. The room was fairly big also.
I liked the peace and quiet,at night time at Pitbauchlie House Hotel, the room was clean and comfortable,a good size. The staff were both polite and professional and took an interest in us as guests. We arrived, for a wedding at a different location, before the check in time, the staff kindly let us leave our luggage and took it to the room.My niece and I enjoyed the breakfast. We enjoyed the pleasant garden also.
Great breakfasts and friendly banter from owner and son Alan and Brent. Alan went out of his way to make you feel welcome. Even lent me his golf clubs to go and play golf! Couldn't ask for more. The 5 minute walk to Dunfermline St Margaret's station meant you could jump on a day return to Edinburgh to explore the city. Great value for money. It was convienent I stayed there 4 nights!
The staff made the stay really good. They were extremely pleasant and helpful. And the bed was one of the comfiest I've ever had in a hotel. It was also very central, great for sightseeing in Dunfermline and I didn't hear a single sound from the bar or restaurant which was right beside my room.
First class hotel in every respect and great to see at least some hotels are back to full working practices after Covid. To every other hotel out there who is still using tired old excuses for laziness take a look at the Holiday Inn Express Dunfermline for what you should be doing
Everything about this hotel is excellent. Despite operating with a very small staff, the rooms were immaculate, the gardens were beautiful and at all times we felt safe and secure. In addition the food was excellent.
The room was spacious and clean. Staff were very helpful with my stationery requests (scanning, copying, printing). Parking at the hotel was adequate.
Everything about the hotel was great the cleanliness the staff the restaurant we could not fault it
The staff were very nice. The hotel room was a good size and very clean
