Hotel in Dunfermline
In the historic city of Dunfermline, with great access by road to Edinburgh and Edinburgh Airport, this modern hotel offers free WiFi internet access and great-value rooms with satellite TV. The location is excellent with easy access to the M90. Across the street is shopping making it easy to pickup odds and ends for our stay. Although there is no ventilation system the window can be opened to let in fresh air which is probably preferable. If heat is required an electric wall mounted space heater is there but we never needed to use it. Service to the room was great and a secure wifi allowed me to use my Fire tablet for internet and email access. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. There was a problem with the shower fixture that had been damaged and even though we reported it on a Sunday management had it fixed without having to relocate while we were out for the day. USB charge points were plentiful.

The family-run Auld Mill House Hotel offers free WiFi throughout and free onsite parking. Great breakfasts and friendly banter from owner and son Alan and Brent. Alan went out of his way to make you feel welcome. Even lent me his golf clubs to go and play golf! Couldn't ask for more. The 5 minute walk to Dunfermline St Margaret's station meant you could jump on a day return to Edinburgh to explore the city. Great value for money. It was convienent I stayed there 4 nights!

Brilliant place to visit. Great bars, restaurants, cafes. The Abbey is a must for King Robert the Bruce's burial tomb (and all the other fascinating history) and Pittencrieff Park is a beautiful place with great views of the bridges and lovely walks, paths, cafe, toilets and the squirrels are so friendly, take some peanuts to feed them and you'll have friends for life!
A great place to visit for many reasons namely Dunfermline Abbey and Pittencrieff Park in the town centre. Also many nice restaurants in the centre including Jack O Bryan’s, Canmore Lodge, Casa Mia. Nearby you can visit the Retail Park which has Hollywood Bowl, Adventure golf and fast food restaurants.
I went to Dunfermline for a tattoo from By Anonymous, so went down a day early to look around. The best part for me was going to nearby Culross and doing the West Fife Way/forest trail. It was gorgeous, took about 4 hours, 15km to walk the forest trail which had war graves and a plague grave as little offshoots. Ended up back in Culross for lunch at the Inn, then hopped on a bus back to Dunfermline. There didn't seem to be much to the town itself, lots of closed shops; but still plenty to get by (big tesco, boots, costa, bus station etc). Bob and Bert's was a great place to eat. I went on my last day to grab a bacon and egg roll and was gutted I didn't find it sooner. They have those amazing cakes with multiple layers! I wouldn't stay at the 1703 hotel again, I'm hoping there's other nearby hotels even if they are more expensive.
Commley apartment 9 Exceptional place perfect, friendly host who helped us with everything to start with anyway but if needed they was just a phone call n a whisker away from needing help with any concerns even though we didn't need anything cos everything was spot on. Thanks James would love to stay again ps absolute bonus has sky Q which is rare in Accommodation these days 😀
Loved Dunfermline, very friendly people, great architecture, massive choice of food choices, japanese, asian, nepalese italian etc, pittenkrief park was lovely. Loads to do like Aberdour beach, loch ore, Carnegie Museum , based close to Stirling, Edingburgh etc. Just a great base to explore Scotland with Loch ness approx 90 mins away, loads of History to research.
It is a wee gem. Lovely architecture and many things to visit. The Palace and the Abbey are superb. The Pittencrieff Park is wonderful and spotless. There are also nice organised activities for children at the public library. We "used" Dunfermline as a base to visit many places around as it is well connected to nice beaches :)
I travel a lot for work and use a lot of hotels. The city hotel is a traditional building right in the centre of Dunfermline. The rooms are large with many original features. The highlight of the stay for me was the excellent restaurant - I'm vegetarian and typically the menus I encounter could best be described as lackluster - not so with the City Hotel! The mixed salad was excellent and a great example of what can be done with imagination, creativity and skill. Porridge in the morning was also the best I've had.
The hotel was very well located within the town centre , and only a few minutes walk from.the alhambra theatre , where we were attending an event . The check in was very good and we were shown all the way to our room by the member if staff. Although we didn't use the dining facilities, the menu looked very substantial, and the dining areas looked stunning .
Stayed here quite a few times now, always happy to return, great friendly staff, great rooms and facilities, decent car park and excellent breakfast. Often use this hotel as it's only ten minutes walk from Dunfermline Queen Margaret train station so it's easy commute into Edinburgh.
The location was excellent. Just outside the door there is an abundance of places to choose from to eat. There’s a bowling alley, bingo hall and crazy golf for entertainment. The pub attached to the hotel was nice. All precautions regarding Covid were in place and being adhered to.
We were at a wedding at the hotel so it was really handy for that, great venue for weddings. The room was nice and tidy, really comfortable and well maintained. tea and coffee facilities were great loved the shortbread. the bar staff were excellent very helpful and very pleasant.

Love coming to this property when we visit Scotland and nearby relatives. Always welcoming and most hospitable. It is homely whilst having all the comforts of a hotel but so much more familiar and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. This is our third stay and can highly recommend.
Very disappointed with not offering a cooked Breakfast, Just offered a continental pack with not even a coffee available with it Wasn’t told this until we arrived Apart from that a great hotel
Dunfermline
Nice and comfy like home! Very clean. The owner is very friendly and the breakfast is superb! If you don't want to stay to a hotel room that looks like a hospital clinic, here's the place to go!

Lovely apartment, quiet but convenient for city centre, train and Asda store.
Superb hotel. Nice building. Spacious rooms. Excellent garden. Dog friendly.
