Dunfermline Is one of my family ancestral homes, so a very special to me with ancestors buried in the Abbey graveyard. But even without that, the Abbey is a historical treasure and has recently been given special attention by Historic Scotland, with new lighting in the ancient abbey nave and new areas opened up to the public including a stone exhibition and storyboards. It is well worth a morning or afternoon visit and time with the knowledgeable volunteer guides who can show you where the royal tombs are.
dunfermline is great but not this family or make shift loft very threatening and intimidating a child half dressed let us into the property if you read the reviews from other people i would say stay well clear of this place they have sent me threats nothing in pictures are there or available i’m shocked booking.com has been associated to this place
Went into town centre for a meal but there were very few restaurants open. First restaurant closed as we arrived, at 5.00 pm Found a nice wee bar the Creepy Wee Pub. We eventually found Carlucci Restaurant very pleasant staff but disappointing desert. The town looks a bit run down.
Lovely comfortable hotel beautiful gardens, lots of parking and in quiet residential area of town but within walking distance. Breakfast in hotel was really good as was a lunch and evening meal. Good selection of wines also. Dunfermline is a good central distance for lots of sightseeing, Glasgow Edinburg, Falkirk wheel and the Kelpies and much more I’m sure. Overall very happy with hotel.
Brilliant place to visit. Great bars, restaurants, cafes. The Abbey is a must for King Robert the Bruce's burial tomb (and all the other fascinating history) and Pittencrieff Park is a beautiful place with great views of the bridges and lovely walks, paths, cafe, toilets and the squirrels are so friendly, take some peanuts to feed them and you'll have friends for life!
A great place to visit for many reasons namely Dunfermline Abbey and Pittencrieff Park in the town centre. Also many nice restaurants in the centre including Jack O Bryan’s, Canmore Lodge, Casa Mia. Nearby you can visit the Retail Park which has Hollywood Bowl, Adventure golf and fast food restaurants.
Hotel is in a good a quiet location but not far from the centre of Dunfermline. The grounds are well kept and the hotel decoration is excellent. The hotel is very clean. The room was a good size and comfortable. We had dinner on 2 nights and the food was very good and reasonably priced. The breakfast was also very good. The staff were outstanding, they could not do enough for their guests. We will certainly be back as you could not get a better hotel.
Inadvertently, I had not reserved an accessible room, so our first night was difficult. When I spoke to the manager about this (Charlie) he and his team were exceptionally helpful, and ensured we were moved to a room which had disabled facilities. This is the second time we have stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Dunfermline, and both times we have been very happy. We will continue to use the hotel whenever we visit Edinburgh.
The staff was very helpful as Booking.com had incorrectly booked our stay as informed by the hotel. I had booked for 2 Family Rooms accommodating 8, however Booking.com had relayed a Family Room and a Double Room to the hotel. However, the staff took care of us by arranging for extra bedding to fulfill our requirements despite them not being at fault.
Loved the Hotel and restaurant. Spacious room and for £20 more with Hotel booking got big breakfast. Dinner was great here too. Super friendly staff. Would deffinatly stay there again if we ever go back to Dunfermline. Close enough location to the Abby where my 21x 22x and 24x ggf King Robert the Bruce is buried. Great little town to visit for sure.
Dunfermline
Wanted a nice little trip up to Scotland and this hit the spot. Having worked all through lockdown myself and my partner wanted a nice trip away from home. The property is so modern and so so clean. The owners have clearly thought about the people who would be staying here and have made it so comfortable. A home away from home. Would 100% recommend.
The location was excellent. Just outside the door there is an abundance of places to choose from to eat. There’s a bowling alley, bingo hall and crazy golf for entertainment. The pub attached to the hotel was nice. All precautions regarding Covid were in place and being adhered to.

Love coming to this property when we visit Scotland and nearby relatives. Always welcoming and most hospitable. It is homely whilst having all the comforts of a hotel but so much more familiar and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. This is our third stay and can highly recommend.
A fantastic family run hotel. Bed was very comfortable and a great night sleep was had. We ate in the bar and the food we had was delicious. A tasty breakfast too! All reasonably priced. This is our go to hotel in Dunfermline when we’re back in my home town.
We went for a room only budget option. This is budget hotel and we got pretty much what we expected. Somewhere to shower and lay one's head. Shower, bed and room very clean. Absolutely no complaints.

The property was so comfortable and a great location. Close enough to town but far enough away. And a great price, cheaper than one small room in a hotel. Will definitely book again no problem. Thanks
