The Old Rectory, Kettlebaston is located just 4 miles from Lavenham. Free WiFi access is available. All rooms have Egyptian cotton sheets, tea/coffee making facilities and free toiletries. Everything about it was exceptional - from the warm welcome from Maggie and Paddy (tea and cake on arrival) to the quality and quantity of the breakfasts and the great little touches that make a stay special (tiny thermos of fresh milk in the room so no nasty UHT to spoil your tea!). The beds were divinely comfortable (Egyptian cotton) and the grounds were spectacular. Welcome extras were the super-friendly cat and dog - oh and the bees that 'accompanied us to breakfast' from the resident hives. For peace and tranquility second to none.

Lavenham is a lovely 15th century village and is well worth the visit, some of Harry Potters films was filmed here as well. Nice tearooms and restaurants. We went in October and a few places were closed may be due to Covid or late season Most places were dog friendly. People were very friendly and helpful . A visit to the Greyhound pub is a must there food is excellent, Tapas a speciality, good real ales and very friendly staff. Vintage blue tearooms do lovely afternoon tea.
The wonky architecture is amazing, and it's great to be able to go into so many buildings to see the inside. There are some good walks around the town, and very good places to eat or have a coffee.
It is a very beautiful village with great architecture wherever you look. The church was also very interesting. We only had a couple of hours to take everything in, but could have happily stayed far longer. We ate at The Angel and both dinner and breakfast were top class
Lavenham is a beautiful village, so glad we visited. If you to have a feel for what old streets of medieval England is like, then you should certainly go. There are some good restaurants and shops (the greyhound is very good), if you stay in the village you can get around easily on foot, however you will also want to visit other parts of Suffolk nearby so may need a car.
Lavenham is beautiful, peaceful and very picturesque and full of 1400 buildings with original features. Streets are quite hilly so could be difficulty for the less abled. Plenty of free parking around the market Square. Lovely shops, boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops.
