Beautiful hotel set in stunning surroundings, yet only 5 mins from the centre of Lincoln. The whole hotel was immaculate. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Our room was large and bathroom had a shower which we had requested. Our meal in the restaurant was absolutely superb, as was the service. Breakfast was really tasty and once again great service. Can't recommend this place enough to anyone thinking of booking.

Lincoln was a powerhouse of medieval England and retains amazing monuments from that period. In the Uphill district is the castle built for William the Conqueror. Inside its an original copy of the Magna Carta and its ramparts offer fabulous city views. Across the cobbled square which houses the large Christmas market is huge Lincoln Cathedral whose unusual façade features 2 tall towers, while another at its centre overlooks the Bishop’s Palace.
Connecting the cathedral quarter with the Downhill district is aptly named Steep Hill, a narrow street lined with unique shops and historic buildings including the Jew’s House. Even older are the Roman Newport Arch, Mint Wall and the well on Bailgate.
This road slopes down to meet the River Witham at High Bridge, a stone-arched structure with a half-timbered building atop that is the oldest of its kind in England. Lincoln boat trips depart from the Brayford Pool just west.
Another monument is the 18th-century Ellis Mill, opposite the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. The Collection combines an archaeology museum and art gallery, while The Lawn has a conference centre and the Joseph Banks Conservatory, displaying artefacts he brought back from adventures with Captain Cook.
Booking.com’s Lincoln accommodation covers luxury waterfront hotels, guest houses by the university and cheap apartments near the train station.

I travel to Lincoln a lot, my son was at Uni there and we found a very nice pub to eat on Friday night - Nosey Parkers - a bit of a walk but well worth it! Love the castle and the cathedral, such a beautiful venue for a graduation ceremony. Later we had an afternoon meal at Prezzo's on Brayford Pool - lots of places to eat here, fabulous views and the sun shone! The journey up steep hill is a bit of a challenge(if you walk) but I managed to get parked in one of the car parks just behind the castle - car parking costs about the same as other cities and there are plenty of options in terms of length of stay. Although my youngest has now finished his degree, I am sure I will continue to visit Lincoln on a regular basis.

Cathedral is wonderful - do the tour!
Cathedral is wonderful - do the tour!
The Bishop's Palace, though largely ruined, is really interesting.
The castle, with the walk along the walls and a visit to the prison and Magna Carta vault is excellent.
Lots of independent and quirky shops - but most close at 5pm.

Fabulous city - a bit of a hidden gem.
Fabulous city - a bit of a hidden gem. Cathedral, castle, guildhall, bishop’s palace, the glory hole and Newport arch all worth spending time on. Just strolling around is great too - a short walk along the Fossdyke navigation takes you out to some lovely countryside. The independent shops and restaurants along Bailgate, Steep Hill and the Strait are terrific. Somehow the city manages to be quiet and lively at the same time. Well be back for more.

I felt safe and comfortable in Lincoln, lots of nice places to see including the cathedral and castle. Lots of different types of places to eat at various prices. There is a steep hill to climb from the town to the cathedral. Certainly need shoes for walking. We also visited East Kirkby Aviation Museum and spent the whole day there. Saw the Lancaster taxiing! We also went to the International Bomber Command Centre which was also interesting.

Loved Lincoln. Lots to do and see.
Loved Lincoln. Lots to do and see. The guided tour was good value at £5 and was very interesting. Lots of roman ruins! The FREE tour of the medieval Guildhall was excellent, and we enjoyed looking around the large cathedral and the tea and cakes in its excellent cafe. Didn't visit the castle or the museum but would recommend a visit to Bomber Command. We walked up Steep Hill in stages and rewarded ourselves with a pie from Hobbsons...very tasty! We stayed near the waterfront at Brayford. Lots of places to eat, including the Horse and Groom pub and close to the High Street and High Bridge. It's a compact city, easy to walk round, if you don't mind the hill!

We went to Lincoln to visit the cathedral. It is stunning.
We went to Lincoln to visit the cathedral. It is stunning. Unfortunately we could not visit the castle as it only allows dog into the grounds on specially designated days, which are not very often. The restaurant scene is dominated by the big chains and pubs, which for us was not appealing. There may have been good independent restaurants, but we did not find any, but we were only there 3 days, which is probably enough to see the sights. We would have liked to take a canal trip, but this was not available while we were there.
Lincoln is fine for a short break, when the weather is sunny.
From the moment we arrived to the time we left every member of staff was so friendly and profesional. The hotel is in a perfect location we could see the Cathedral from our window. Bedroom and bathroom were both comfortable and very clean. The breakfast we had was one of the best I have ever had, as we were travelling with our dog we ate our breakfast in the bar area (as dogs are not allowed in the restaurant) on a table set up just for us Ivy (our dog) even had her own Lincoln sausage. Would recommend this hotel to eveyone
The location was terrific. I was working at the cathedral which was just across the road. The room was big enough, comfortable with a desk to work at and plenty of sockets. Wi-Fi was good enough for me. The car park, just £7 for the whole stay, for a hotel in the city centre was amazing. Couldn’t fault the breakfast. Would stay again whenever I go to Lincoln.
The staff were friendly and the hotel was situated close to the Lincoln Castle where the gig we were attending was going to be.
Rooms were clean and well equipped. Overall excellent place to stay.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Availability of a parking space.
Location was the deciding factor as to where to stay, hotel was very central to Lincoln City centre.
