Are the gardens were beautiful. The room was spacious and super clean. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. Amelia graciously brought us more coffee to go with the toast and English jams.

A lovely pub with outstanding staff and a very welcoming and conscientious landlord. The room was very comfortable and spacious, with a brilliant bed. Food was outstanding, my only disappointment was having to leave too early to sample the breakfast! Thank you for your hospitality.

The camping pod was really cosy and clean, much roomier and more comfortable than I expected. The pods are really well kitted out with kitchenware and home comforts, which is perfect for a solo traveller who can't carry too much with them. Lovely little coffee/tea hamper provided and the hob was really easy to use. The pods are warm and well lit, with a great little decking area to sit out on into the evening. Very comfortable beds and bedding, plenty of towels in the shower room and all the little extra things you might need have been thought of. I would highly recommend the Scallows and would love to visit again myself one day.

I went to school at mayfield College about a mile away from the village for 6 years in te early 1960's. I don't think the village has changed much in that time except there is no railway line thanks to Dr. Beeching.

We stayed in Mayfield for one night and used it as base to...

We stayed in Mayfield for one night and used it as base to visit the area. The food is good quality and not excessively priced. There was great musical entertainment in the bar that night too. It is an old Inn so expect the quirks that go with that.
