Fantastic hotel. Friendly staff, good location and clean, comfortable rooms. Situated right next to a Mcdonald's so we ate there for breakfast. Had dinner in the restaurant, which is great as has a kids soft play. Beds are very comfortable and no noise heard at all.
Room was dirty, bedding was stained. Very run down hotel in need of refurb. Severely understaffed. No general manager to be seen anywhere on three occasions came back to find him and he was nowhere.left hotel withour staying.
The purpose of our visit was to have Xmas Day lunch at Forbes of Kingennie which is approx 10-15min drive away from Monifieth. Excellent venue and well worth a visit. The Panmure Hotel was the closest hotel we could find for a one night stopover at this time of year but I wouldn't stay again.
Friendly enough staff but place is in serious need of upgrading. Large stains on the walls, empty juice bottle found under bed (only found this as hairbrush went under bed). Heating in room didnt work properly . Cant comment on breakfast as it wasnt included.
Monifieth is a nice village on the Tay Estuary with a lovely beach. It has a good range of village shops all conveniently located with easy parking. Further good shopping is nearby in Broughty Ferry and Dundee. Monifieth has one of the best golf courses in Scotland and is convenience centre to stay when playing Carnoustie and St Andrews.
