Being back in Newtownards, my home town was especially great, but the stay in the Strangford was exceptional, staff service and food was excellent, and the room was extremely clean and the service staff were very helpful. We arrived late and left early.
We arrived late and left early. Didn’t have time to look around the town. We chose Newtownards for its location from where we would be visiting local attractions the next day and the hotel as the best of a small choice.

Newtownards, while not obviously a beautiful town, has interesting and historic elements. Its position near Belfast, lovely Strangford Lough and magnificent National Trust property Mountstewart is a bonus. We enjoyed drinks and food in the Parlour (formerly known as the Old Cross). There were other interesting looking bars/restaurants which we unfortunately did not have time to explore.

She was so helpful in giving us tips and things to do during our time in Northern Ireland as well and was checking in on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. Breakfast was great and there was a very nice area to hangout in during the evenings. Clean, nice place to stay, so much better than a big chain hotel!
