In picturesque Pangbourne, just yards from the scenic River Thames, The George Hotel features a traditional bar with Wi-Fi access. Reading center is a 10-minute train ride away. What a wonderful hotel The George is. My room was absolutely gorgeous; I wasn't expecting a four poster bed so that was a great surprise. The bath was huge and great for a relaxing soak. For the price, it exceeded all my expectations. The breakfast was excellent and good value for money and the breakfast staff were really lovely. I have to give a special mention to Dee on the check in desk who was so incredibly lovely and kind. All in all it was an excellent stay.
Located in Reading, 8.7 mi from Madejski Stadium, Chambers Place features a garden and views of the garden. The accommodation unit was above and beyond expectation. The hosts were very nice. There are a variety of activities for children on the farm and in the unit itself.
Located in Reading, 14 mi from Madejski Stadium, Bull Inn features accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a garden. Lovely rooms in a very nice pub. I loved how the rooms were converted outbuildings in keeping with the pub character. We were travelling by bike so were grateful to be able to put our bikes in our rooms for safety. Comfortable rooms with comfy beds and nice hot showers. Dinner was good, breakfast was very good and staff were really friendly.
Pangbourne’s become seedy looking, with very few real shops left. All the pubs were either closed to non residents, or closed around 9.00 pm ish; all, except The Swan, we’re closed all Sunday evening! The high street is very noisy and stinks of fumes.
It’s only small village which is gorgeous and full of character. There’s only a few places to book to stay overnight. The George was dirty and badly needs some tlc! Didn’t use the romantic bath for 2 in the honeymoon suite because of the mould around the bath. So wasn’t the special romantic stay we hoped for atal
Cleanliness and individuality of hotel decor coupled with keen price meant for an enjoyable stay. The hotel is well situated in the village. Also reassuring was that there seemed good regard to social distancing and other covid related precautions by all staff.
Beautiful place. Plenty to do & see. Great Restraunts, like Ninos & Turkish Restraunt next door. Co-Op open till late, very handy & other shops To see. Lots of pubs in walking distance. Downfall only, the village is very noisy with none stop traffic. But will definitely be back.
Pangbourne is beautiful. There are plenty of stunning walks you can do in either direction along the Thames. Great for paddle boarding and kayaking as the water is so calm and there is plenty to look at. Lovely pubs, great restaurants, beautiful park/meadow and lovely friendly people.
The hotel establishment was dirty nothing like it shows in the pictures on your website. The only staff members that were polite was the man that checked us in and the woman behind the bar downstairs. One of our rooms was not ready when we arrived even though we put in a request to come earlier as we were travelling down for reading festival. They also agreed that our rooms would be ready for the time we requested.I went to go into my room and there was a housekeeper in the room hardly spoke English and was rude and was literally the word WAIT sternly was only said to us when we asked politely how long it would be until the room was ready. We waited 45mins in the bar until our room was ready. When entering the room the carpets were stained, the room smelt despite all windows were open and the toilet seat was stained with god knows what. There were also cobwebs dust and spiders.
