Situated on 300 acres of countryside on the edge of the Dedham Vale and just off route A134, this hotel is about a 20 minute drive from Colchester and Ipswich. It was a heavenly break.. the golf course amazing… The hospitality staff very friendly but personally they could do with more “help” However I most definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing break. O! The food was excellent as well .

A beautiful period house, 20 minutes walk outside Stoke by Nayland, in pristine quiet (except for some tawny owl calls). Our room ("Boat room") was large, 4 pillar bed, perfect shower, all exceptionally clean. Breakfast: I'm not lying, one of the best we ever had, everything made to order. Lot's of walking possibilities. Host David Kerr provides good maps.
