Located in Pooley Bridge, The Crown Inn Pooley Bridge has a restaurant, bar, garden, and free WiFi throughout the property. The property has a terrace and a 24-hour front desk. Staff went above and beyond Steve and Paul the manager were amazing. Food was excellent, room was lovely, the decor and the little touches in the room made the stay A+
Set in the peaceful village of Pooley Bridge, 1863 Restaurant with Rooms is less than 1640 feet from the shores of beautiful Lake Ullswater. A beautiful property, lovely decor and very welcoming. The staff were all very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you. The food is exceptional. I would highly recommend this beautiful property.. we will most certainly be coming back again.
Located in Pooley Bridge, 23 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere, Barton Hall Country House provides a shared lounge and free WiFi. Barton Hall Country House is something completely different, and we absolutely loved every minute of it. Don't expect some run off the mill hotel or hostel experience. Instead you will set foot in an old English manor, with all it's quirks and curiosities. We enjoyed the comfy beds and very tasty English breakfast, but it were the jaw-dropping manor and the wonderful host Elsa that made this one of our most memorable stays ever. And do I have to mention that the surrounding Lake District is absolutely mesmerizingly beautiful? I probably don't, the Lake District is so well known for it's natural beauty. To conclude: we genuinely can't think of a better base to explore the Lake District. Barton Hall Country House has been a truly enjoyable experience and I definitely hope to go back soon.
Duke of Portland Boathouse on the shore of Lake Ullswater ideal for a romantic break is located in Pooley Bridge. The vacation home has lake views and is 22 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere. Great location and beautiful boathouse with stunning views!!
Blacksmiths Cottage, Pooley Bridge is located in Pooley Bridge. The accommodation is 22 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere, and guests benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. Beautiful little cottage, perfect for a couple wanting a quiet retreat close to the amenties of Pooley Bridge with its pubs, cafes and shops. We loved the view from the breakfast table, lambs skipping in the field at the back of the cottage and we loved the small log burner.
The food was nice but pretty standard pub grub. They could do with improving the menu and making it a bit more varied + breakfast did not start till 8am which is far too late for anybody working and you still had to pay even if you didn’t have it.
Pooley bridge is a thriving village with plenty to do and see. The Ullswater steamer is an excellent trip. Plenty of lovely restaurants and beer gardens for relaxing. The Sun Inn does the best food and staff are really friendly.
We enjoy hiking. The accommodation was lovely as was the owner and all of her helpers. We could walk out directly onto the fells or catch a bus close by so that we could do a linear walk. Would definitely stay again.
Largest village on the lake, with three or four large pubs / hotels, great cafes, good little shops, plenty of parking. The only restaurant, as opposed to pubs, was closed due to lack of staff. Boat trips were great - we took different routes and walked back. A great walking area although not well signed, but you can't really get lost. People were generally friendly and helpful. Will visit again, for longer.
A superb location at the north end of Ullswater with a great choice of places to eat. The Ullswater ferry runs close from nearby pier. A visit is highly recommended ............you won't regret it.
There's not a lot of attractions in Pooley Bridge, although I just went there to complete the Ullswater end-to-end swim. On the non-swimming days, had pleasant walks around the lake and along the nearby public footpaths.
The property was clean, cheerful, recently decorated. Location was great, right on the edge of the lake. The room was impressive -- very well equipped, with comfy bed, a brilliant bathroom, and lots of v nice touches like soft, thick loo paper and real milk for the (not powdery) coffee. Breakfast was totally excellent, too, with decent espresso coffee and a really great grilled Full English (actually Full Cumbrian). Staff were cheery and helpful, no surliness or over-friendliness. And the place is dog-friendly too, if that floats your boat ...
Fabulous breakfast good car park but busy at times. Make sure you book early to secure a preferred evening meal time; its popular for a reason. A range of Ales and decent menu. Large comfy bed and a nice bathroom with good shower and well equipped with various drinks, shortbread and fresh milk!
1863 is close to everything in Pooley Bridge including Ullswater Steamers. The room had everything you needed and was immaculate. The staff are all lovely and very welcoming. The breakfast had plenty of choice and everything we tried was delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Friendly, exceptionally clean, very dog friendly, well worth a visit. Located 10 min walk from Pooley Bridge in private gardens. This was a lovely retreat for 3 nights. Ailsa and Louise were really friendly and looked after us.
A Lovely comfortable cottage, we enjoyed our stay. Its close walking distance into Pooley bridge to pubs/ resturants, little gift shops. Near to the beautiful sites of ullswater lake. Would reccomend to family and friends

Great location and beautiful boathouse with stunning views!!
