Nothing any good at the hotel but the town was very pleasant. Room carpet was filthy. There was no bin to put waste in and we asked for one but nothing ever came. Window was filthy and had not been cleaned for months. We understand the hotel had just been taken over. We were told there was no chef when we arrived at the restaurant but the had a short menu who cooked it we do not know but it was very poor. We had Eggs and supposedly hand carved ham and something else which I cannot remember. It was cold and we left most of it. There was no breakfast in the morning and we could not get out of their fast enough the following morning. We had paid by voucher which was dearer thane originally booked and then they presented us with an invoice for £80 odd. You asked about having a television there was one but only BBC 1 and 2 worked. I wrote a review of another hotel I stayed in the week before in Wigan and that was bad and you said you would not publish it. If you do not publish this one I am likely to take further action. I lived in Reigate from 1962 to May 2021. I have always loved Reigate. It is a wonderful place to live and is steeped in history. Henry VIII visited an old Priory in the middle of Reigate town and there are the remains of a Castle Keep with a semi dry moat. It has underground caves in the town to visit too. There is an enormous, beautiful park also in the middle of Reigate town that people from miles around come to visit. I do miss living here but I am now 5 minutes walk from the Sea.
Plenty of parking.Very friendly. We didn't eat there in the evening, as we were attending a wedding reception elsewhere. Breakfast was good, but we were towards the end of the window and felt a bit rushed, as they were resetting the room for a lunch function. Perfectly courteous, though. Room was clean, light and airy and well equipped.
Nothing hotel old No updates, just a no star hotel for what i feel for truckers to night stop The flagship!!! Wouldn’t want to stay in there basic Eg When there I read a review, and as it was I stayed in the same room as a lady who had stayed there 3 weeks prior, in her review she said T V not working only 2 channels available Clearly nothing done about it as still the same problem that’s just one example I personally wouldn’t stay there again however cheap Z!!! And in this climate really not Covid rules followed
Reigate is a very vibrant town, a Historic town, very picturesque, lots of good restaurants, pubs, a great variety of shops, the beautiful Priory Park to the south of the High Street & historic Castle Grounds to the North, to walk in. The entire town centre is a conservation area, carefully protected to retain it's historic charm. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside & close the the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty & adjacent to the Pilgrim Way which runs from Winchester to Canterbury, ideal for long distance walkers. Reigate Hill, just off the M25, is a National Trust area with stunning views over the town & adjacent countryside. Having booked a very disappointing Hotel, The Bridge House Hotel, I breakfasted at Beryl & Peg's, a superb Cafe on Holmesdale Road, opposite Reigate Station at the bottom of Reigate Hill. The splendid Restaurant "Cullender's" has replaced the superb "La Barbe" which served Reigate French cuisine for many many years.
I've been here before but this time was very poor. Awful shower facilities, no WiFi (in all fairness they did try to get an engineer in), no pillows and found the bed uncomfortable. I use this hotel just for a quick few hours nap when in the area visiting a friend but won't be coming back again. You basically get what you pay for (£30 for the night) but would of had a better night sleep in my car!
Good location and nice hotel. Was there for a birthday party and the venue had its own cellar room with sunken floor disco. All staff we encountered were friendly.
For us it is a perfect location as we needed to visit relatives living nearby in Reigate, who do not have space for us in the house.
