Good location near to trains and motorway and furthermore near the town centre itself. As its a main road the room i was in could hear some minor road traffic noise but this wouldn't put off staying again. The staff were excellent, couldn't fault their attentiveness. Rooms were spacious and i like the herbal tea box which most hotels don't do. i would stay again
the hotel had plenty of parking and the staff were friendly and good. The room i had first had no hot water so i had to change rooms. my second room was ok had. overall the hotel was ok fort he price but the rooms were getting tired and the towels had seen better days. I did not think much of the early check out time of 11 am.
The town is lively, lovely old priory school & park shops ok. Dorking and surrounding area. recommend a visit to Wotten Abbey, has or is being refurbished into Hotel, exclusive restaurant, ideal for weddings impressive grounds,is a bit difficult to find! WE dined in Burford Bridge Hotel, excellent food. Took a short Taxi ride from there to visit the Wotten Abbey(,it has a knew name, we read an article in a magazine in the Burford Bridge)
I only stayed overnight, which only gave me a chance for a short walk through the high street with its many tea/coffee rooms and bars and restaurants. Plenty of choice. I walked through the beautiful park with various wildlife hopping around and swans, geese and ducks on the pond. We had dinner in a small, quite modern burger bar. Excellent choice since it was not your typical greasy burger bar. The service was excellent. Sadly I can't remember the name of the place. Reigate is beautiful and attracks many visitors, which of course means traffic!
Nothing any good at the hotel but the town was very pleasant. Room carpet was filthy. There was no bin to put waste in and we asked for one but nothing ever came. Window was filthy and had not been cleaned for months. We understand the hotel had just been taken over. We were told there was no chef when we arrived at the restaurant but the had a short menu who cooked it we do not know but it was very poor. We had Eggs and supposedly hand carved ham and something else which I cannot remember. It was cold and we left most of it. There was no breakfast in the morning and we could not get out of their fast enough the following morning. We had paid by voucher which was dearer thane originally booked and then they presented us with an invoice for £80 odd. You asked about having a television there was one but only BBC 1 and 2 worked. I wrote a review of another hotel I stayed in the week before in Wigan and that was bad and you said you would not publish it. If you do not publish this one I am likely to take further action. Spencer Hagon, 41 Southdown Road, Bristol, Bristol BS93NJ.
I lived in Reigate from 1962 to May 2021. I have always loved Reigate. It is a wonderful place to live and is steeped in history. Henry VIII visited an old Priory in the middle of Reigate town and there are the remains of a Castle Keep with a semi dry moat. It has underground caves in the town to visit too. There is an enormous, beautiful park also in the middle of Reigate town that people from miles around come to visit. I do miss living here but I am now 5 minutes walk from the Sea.
Hotel in desperate need of refurbishment. Carpet are old and dirty walls skirtings and architraves all need painting. The whole hotel is tired and looks un loved.
The apartment was clean, warm and stylish. Lots of little extras - everything you might need was provided. Easy walking distance into Reigate and the station.
