The location was great, but remote and hard to get to without prebooking a car. So make arrangements in advance. Dinner was excellent and the staff super friendly. The pub was the best and most friendly. We really enjoyed meeting the locals and experiencing their hospitality.

So very Clean , and accommodating. Modern niceties but still staying true to old charm. The food in the pub is delicious! Not to mention the conversation with other patrons and staff was so friendly and welcoming. We loved that it is animal friendly!

Absolutely first class service, we were leaving early and the lassie that checked us in, (think she was the owner) made us a packed lunch cos we’d left too early for breakfast. Best packed lunch and well prepared even down to the Prawn Cocktail crisps 😊 nice touch. Would have no hesitation recommending the Craignelder Hotel and I’ll definitely be back.

I loved everything about this house and the area, everything you cold need and more, a wee home from home Took a wee trip to port Patrick is a great place to stay and just relax or a base to go adventuring definitely recommend, the local takeaway restaurant is fantastic

The property was excellent and had everything you will ever...

The property was excellent and had everything you will ever need. We knew it was a small village with only one hotel but had hoped they would have been able to get a choice of vegetarian food on their menus. Sadly not the case which meant cooking at the property or driving to a local caravan park with a restaurant or Stranraer (8 miles).

Perfect location for fishing, walking, golfing and taking in the stunning scenery. The hotel Tigh Na Mara was excellent with good food and plenty of drinks and the staff were amazing as were the locals.

Sandhead is a small little village by the sea, easily...

Sandhead is a small little village by the sea, easily accessible to other sites and villages on the coast. Has everything you need, a friendly pub, beach, a lovely B&B/Hotel Tigh Na Mara, and convenience shop, for us, perfect! Thank you will recommend & come again.
