Woodville Smial is located in Sowerby Bridge and offers a terrace. The property is 18 miles from Bradford, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. We liked all the extras that were provided to make our stay comfortable. The televisions had Netflix & Amazon Prime available if wanted. The provision of a dishwasher & washing machine was very useful. A nice touch was the selection of wine that you could buy, if wanted, at a reasonable price.
Located in Halifax, 5.6 mi from Victoria Theater, The Griffin Inn features accommodations with a restaurant, free private parking, a bar and a garden. I loved my 2 night stay here, from the time that I walked in I made to feel very welcome.. even though I was a bit late ! My room was spacious and very comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The hosts are lovely people, the chef a genius with a lot of varied choices on the menu. Cant wait for another visit.
Located in the King Cross area of Halifax, Gray Stone Studio Apartments features accommodations a 19-minute walk from Victoria Theater. I stayed here for 1 night as I was on a business trip. It has nice clean room. Good bed for good night sleep which is very important to me. Cant fault it :)
We just visited for a couple of nights and used Sowerby Bridge as a base so can't say too much about the town as a whole. But we had a lovely afternoon watching the canal boats negotiating the locks with the supervision of the canal staff. Then enjoyed a beer and a glass of wine at The Moorings pub ( very Covid safe)
Enjoyed the downhill walk into the town where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants but needed a taxi back as hills are steep and a bit much for us as we are nearly 60 Taxi was very reasonably priced at £4 Very nice walks in the countryside and along the canal
We stayed in Sowerby Bridge because we were going to a classic car show In Hebden Bridge and wanted to stay somewhere the night before, so although we went through the town we didn’t actually intend on exploring it so can’t really comment on the place. It looked interesting and we may go there another time
Sowerby Bridge is in need of some TLC. There was too much litter, boarded up shops, pot holes in the road and a feeling of being run down and unloved. It suffered by comparison with other places to see nearby
We were there for a day event so did not travel the area and would like to do so in the future as the surrounding countryside looked very appealing for all types of activities. It was very pleasant walking in and around Sowerby Bridge itself. Plenty of good eating places we were recommend the Olive Branch, Greek and it lived up to the expectations. The town on the Friday evening was buzzing, good to see. Definitely a night life town. The Syhibay an Indian restaurant was also recommended but was so full from 5 pm onwards must be good. Out hotel did not supply breakfast which we did not realise, but no problem, the Wharf Cafe was great. Very comfortable, great service and good food. We were also amazed at how many buses passed through to Halifax they seemed never ending. It also had rail connections. This would be a great stop over for anyone doing walking and back packing. Near to the Pennine Way.
The Rushcart is in Sowerby old village well above the Victorian valley factories but close to the Calder valley and Hebden Bridge activities Sowerby bridge has a market and lots of pubs and takeaways and not far from Halifax abc it’s Piece Hall
