I visited in January, not many tourists and luckily the weather was clear and sunny most of the time. Also the hotel and spa facilities were quiet. Plenty to do and see, the coast path just outside the town centre is exceptional for views and connecting with nature.
Torquay is a lovely town the Devon. I love it so much that I visit at least three time’s a year. The place has a calming effect. There are lots of places to visit and lovely selection of restaurants with great food. The people are friendly and helpful and welcome visitors to their town. They are always ready to suggest other places to visit.
You need to be able to take a bit of rough with the smooth but Torbay is undoubtedly very impressive and a must see. A bay of that size is unique in England and is evocative of the South of France with all the boats and the big hotels high up off the road. Edwardian architecture and design is still in evidence. Charming railway station next to the grand hotel, bowls club, lots of gardens, piers, theatres etc. A warm and interesting antidote to the increasingly uniform world in which most of us live.
Amazing sea side ,resort, beaches, traditional English towns &villages nearby, Best Fish and chips, array of food and places to dine. great for family friendly away, visit Cockington village and sample all flavour of Devon Ice cream a must not forgetting cream tea. yuum
Torquay has something for everyone. Places to eat, drink, shop. The nice thing about Torquay is that there are lots of places to visit all in close proximity by bus or car. It feels safe walking around at night. And the harbour walk is nice.
We enjoyed the pool. The service in the bar was awful, very slow & had to go to the bar to ask for drinks. Staff were friendly. Our room was very small for 4 of us & very dated but great view. Was very expensive for a dated room definitely not 4*.
Torquay
the room was great and the bed was big and comfy, all in facilities including iron hairdryer fridge tea and coffee flat screen tv and private bathroom and two armchairs you couldn't ask for more. The hosts were warm and friendly and served one of the best breakfast choices I have ever had from the moment you sit down to the time you leave , definatly recommend .
Torquay
Adrian and his wife went out of their way to be helpful, picking us up from the bus station, giving us a tour of the town and dropping us at bygones. The breakfast was very special. The room was a little small but apart from that would have to be one of the best places we have stayed. Good value for money and we recommend this property to everyone.
Torquay
We had flat 4. It has lovely views of the garden and was nicely thought out and decorated. The owners are also very amenable. We had a cancelled flight so had to rearrange our plans a bit, but it was no problem. They also offered us a later check out as there wasn’t another guest arriving the day we left.
