We had a wonderful stay in Ilulissat. The house was very warm, cozy, and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and a beautiful view that looked like a painting. The shower was also great, with hot water and good water pressure. The location was very convenient for grocery shopping, hiking, and getting around town. What we appreciated most, however, was our host. Whenever we had a question or needed any help, he responded very quickly and was always genuinely willing to assist us with whatever we needed during our trip. When you are visiting a place that is completely new to you, having such a kind, responsive, and helpful host gives you a wonderful sense of comfort and reassurance. We really enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay here again.

A really special town with a mix of International Travelers...

A really special town with a mix of International Travelers and helpful staff. This location is so amazing - the Icebergs are massive and dominate Disko Bay. The visit far exceeded our expectations - magical.

Amazing scenery. Bucket list adventures.

Amazing scenery. Bucket list adventures. Highly recommend for those who seek adventure and love the outdoors. However, if you like picture perfect towns, not for you. Look past that, ilulissat will get there and feel lucky that you get to visit before the rest of the word discovers this little gem. Very expensive for trips and eating out. Highly recommend Hotel Hvide Falk for amazing food and staff and Albatros Arctic for really knowledgeable staff who know how to go the extra mile!!

Great place to visit the local history museum and to view...

Great place to visit the local history museum and to view Eqi Glacier. Also the ice fyord, unesco protected site. Also to try some Greenlandic dishes at Inuit cafe Restaurant. This restaurant has been entered into my little book of places worth revisiting!

It is likely that during Disco bay icefjiord experience...

It is likely that during Disco bay icefjiord experience you'll see the wales, so a separate trip to watch wales may not be needed. The icefiord remains the most impressive thing to see from a walking distance and also from a boat. Eqi glacier is nice, but less impressive and takes a long time to go there. Icefiord center is an interesting site to visit, as you'll pass the sledge dog keeping site along the way. Do not touch or try to intervene with digs, as this my end lethaly for... them. I found the place terrible for dogs... and any animals in general, as they are kept on chain. However, it is par of the culture and that's something interesting to see.

There are plenty of companies to book boat tours, whale...

There are plenty of companies to book boat tours, whale watching etc, but we felt inclined to go with the local tour operators, who deserve the business, and really do know so much about the area and how to respect the wildlife. Getting around was easy, as it's a small town, taxis aplenty too. We didn't eat out as we were self-catering. Two good supermarkets in the high street. One gripe though is the amount of litter, sometimes the bins were overflowing. I would suggest a town litter pick occasion!

Ilullisat is absolutely worthy in a trip to Greenland.

Ilullisat is absolutely worthy in a trip to Greenland. We have never seen such huge icebers. There are good options to trail in the area (Yellow Trail is the easiest one although is not such easy as it may seen). You move everywhere walking although taxi is not an expensive option. "I love Ilullisat tours" offers very good boat tours. Hangout Bistro is a restaurant with good options for dinner or lunch.

Sometimes you don't need to stay at a hotel to appreciate how well they treat their guests — even when those guests are ultimately unable to stay. We simply want to thank Hotel Hvide Falk for the understanding, kindness and consideration they showed us. The way they handled our situation meant a lot to us. That alone is enough for us to know that next year we want to try again to finally make it to Ilulissat and, hopefully, be able to stay at Hotel Hvide Falk.

This hotel is located a bit far from the town centre so you may need taxis to get around. However, it is still well located near the beginning of a hiking trail which is stunning. The food is good although we had better (and cheaper) at other hotels in Greenland. The staff are super nice and helpful.
