We fell in love with this hotel. The staff was kind and very helpful, the rooms were incredible, the breakfast was delicious and had many options. The location is great, very close to everything and still quiet. We would highly recommend Mansio to all of our friends and hope to be able to come back.

The staff was very thoughtful and kind at this hotel! They decorated our room very very nicely for our honeymoon. Additionally, the room was very elegant and romantic. It was the perfect combination of rustic and modern. The breakfast was also very delicious. The hotel is located in the old town of Rethymno which was a great location for us to explore nearby. We are very happy we stayed at Amalen Suites during our time in Rethymno for our honeymoon!

The room is very clean and well-decorated, thus creating a sense of warmth and tranquility. Amazing attention to detail in all aspects. Our room overlooked the ocean and had a private balcony. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. Besides the fresh fruit and drinks we were greeted with when we arrived, we found a plate of fresh melon slices, a platter of pastries and a bottle of wine in our room, a very nice touch. We loved relaxing on the beach snd swimming in the crystal clear ocean. We also appreciated that saving beach or pool chairs with towels was not allowed and was enforced.

This property has been recently redone in a grand fashion and has all of the expected modern amenities. It’s convenient beachfront location is between the port and old town. Parking is right across the street. The location is absolutely perfect for walking about and exploring as well as enjoying the beach. All of the staff were kind and attentive, but the cook, Maria was outstanding! The breakfasts she prepared consisting of a combination of local fare and standard items were particularly a treat!

Pigi is a lovely little village outside of Rethimno, it...

Pigi is a lovely little village outside of Rethimno, it might be too quiet for some. Can easily get the bus from top of village for €2 each way or a taxi will cost you €20. Highly recommend hiring a car so you can see places like Lake Kournas or Bali . We ate in all 3 restaurants in Pigi , and also Paprika about 10 mins walk. The food is Cretan and very reasonable.
