Castello Hotel is located in Rio, 3 miles from Patras and half a mile from the newly constructed Rion-Antirion bridge. It offers well-equipped rooms, secure parking lot and a 24-hour front desk. The rooms were surprisingly big and very practical. Everything was very clean and the furniture in the room was new. Very friendly personnel. Overall, the place exceeded my expectations and I would visit again.
Set in Vernardhaíika, Βίλα Λαδάς, Vila Ladas offers accommodations with a garden, free WiFi, a shared kitchen, and a tour desk. The villa features garden views and is 27 mi from Mesolongion. Chris is an excellent host, friendly and helpful. Always willing to answer a question and provide you with information for a comfortable stay. The property was very spacious, clean, quite, and with a nice view. Definitely recommend this.
The seafront DH Epavlis is a detached holiday home featuring a garden with a big outdoor pool, set in Rio in the Peloponnese Region. The bridge of Rio-Antirio is around 1.2 mi away. We spent the most beautiful holidays at DH Epavlis. Everything was great, starting with the warm and welcoming hosts, with their luxurious and bright home on the seafront, the garden full of tasty fruits and vegetables. But the most beautiful memories are related to Mr. Kostas and Mr. Napoleon - you rarely meet such people. They waited for us with full baskets of fruits and vegetables from their garden, they cooked for us delicious Greek food and gave us good advices on the local wine. Every morning we enjoyed the delicious figs freshly picked by Mr Kostas from the garden. They will always do anything to make you feel good, always smiling, kind and welcoming. They made us feel like a family. Thank you Mr. Kostas and Mr. Napoleon! We can't wait to go back to this wonderful place.
The Porto Rio Hotel spreads out in a 35,000 square yard green area, just 5 mi from Patras. The beachfront complex offers an outdoor pool. Right on the Gulph of Corinth, with a pool. View of bridge, which is what we came to see and walk. Nice little balcony, nice decor. Wait staff in restaurant was excellent.

Located in Rio, just 2 miles from Cultural & Conference Centre of the University of Patras, Rio Holiday Home has beachfront accommodations with a garden, barbecue facilities, a terrace and free WiFi.
TOO SHORT A VISIT TO HAVE FAVOURITE PLACES. EASY TO GET AROUND IF YOU HAVE A CAR. BUSY NEAR-BY MAIN TOWN/PORT (PATRAS) ESPECIALLY IN THE SUMMER TIME - SHIPS SAILING TO ITALY AND GREEK ISLANDS.
A small city by the beach, very quiet but it’s not very touristic. It’s suited for students who study at the University of Patras. Restaurants there are very nice though , especially those by the beach, and there are nice locations to swim. Everything is surprisingly cheap compared to Northern Europe. Public transportation around Rio are are not very reliable, trains don’t run sometimes and buses are not frequent within rio. A rented car is a must if you would like to explore a it more with freedom.
The rooms stunk of cigarette smoke and the photos don't match what you see when you get there. Lucky we only stayed one night passing through to our next destination. Keep driving Rio not a place to stay.
An average beach area in a very average city! We were there only to visit family! There are much better cities and even better beaches to visit in Greece! Give Patra a wide berth and go elsewhere.......
Rio is situated in a very nice location but unfortunately there are not many things to do there. Does not have any good restaurants, or any historical places of interest. The beaches are below average and nightlife is poor.
I was there for a MTB race near by (Galatas). Went to see Patras as well. Turned out there's a lot to be seen, so I'll be back :-) Rio itself is also a nice place with some good tavernas. I was there in February, so didn't try the beach/water.
Right on the Gulph of Corinth, with a pool. View of bridge, which is what we came to see and walk. Nice little balcony, nice decor. Wait staff in restaurant was excellent.
