Offering a restaurant and picturesque décor, Casa Chapina Francesa is located 15 minutes' drive from Antigua Guatemala. This place was amazing. We booked it for a night… and ended up staying a week. Azucena made us feel as if we were staying in her own home. She brought us delicious homemade breakfast every morning at whatever time suited us. If we needed to do dishes or wash clothes she gave us full use of her home. She had a houseful of the sweetest animals (cats and dogs), and she and her family loved our dog. She always looked forward to hearing about our day. We felt much more like we had a home stay and not a hotel. On top of all of that, the location was great (especially if you have your own vehicle). The property is located in a safe, quiet neighborhood less than a half hour drive from Antigua. The nearest town is only a five minute drive away and has food easily available. It was also a great spot to return to after summiting Volcan Acatenango and Agua. Azucena made our time in and around Antigua Guatemala something truly special.
