It honestly feels like living in a Hobbit world. Staying in one of these mud houses feels like being completely immersed in nature. The thick earth walls, organic curves, carefully chosen earthy colour palette, and the constant sounds of birds and insects create an atmosphere where your nervous system genuinely feels the difference. I had some of the best nights of sleep here. For a similar price, you could easily book a villa or hotel, but this offers something completely different. It feels like living in a fairy tale… as if an Asian version of Gandalf might appear at any moment. 🤣 It’s one of the most unique places I’ve stayed—not just in Bali, but in all of Southeast Asia. The interiors are even more beautiful and atmospheric than the photos suggest. What makes this place even more special is its commitment to sustainability. Rather than being just another beautiful accommodation, it’s built around an eco-conscious philosophy that respects the land it’s on. 90% solar powered, 100% rain water and complete waste recycled. This is tourism that respects Bali instead of simply profiting from its beauty. The staff are warm and welcoming, making you feel at home while still giving you plenty of privacy. Everything is also impressively clean, proving that eco-friendly living doesn’t mean compromising on hygiene. I noticed quite a few Japanese guests staying here, and after experiencing it myself, I completely understand why. The location is another highlight. It’s tucked away from the busy tourist areas, and you can step outside for peaceful walks through the rice fields in complete quiet. I rarely feel this strongly about a place, but this one is truly special.
