We stayed four nights at Rolf’s. It’s a charming small hotel, along a quiet, country lane about 10 minutes walk from beautiful Baltimore. It’s family-run, and everyone is very friendly and helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant, which was excellent.
The Stone House B&B is located in the coastal village of Baltimore on the Wild Atlantic Way. Skibbereen is 7.5 mi away. Everything was perfect. Rianne is very nice and I really enjoyed to talk with her. The B&B is very well located in Baltimore (less than 5 min by walk from the harbour) and the room was clean and beautiful. The breakfasts were very good too. I was also very happy to be able to see dolphins on the last morning.

Baltimore is a great place for discovering the islands, peninsulas and sea. We did a whale watching tour and while we saw no whales, we had a great time enjoying the beautiful landscape, a visit on Cape Clear and watching the dolphins. Baltimore has pubs, a small public park and restaurants right at the harbor and it is a beautiful place to just hang out and watch the ferries, people, birds, boats. Great sea food too (we ate at the Look Out and it was fantastic). We would have loved more time for kayaking, biking and hiking in the area.
Spent 4 days in Baltimore (8/2020) - Loads to do despite COVID-19 restrictions - however I recommend you book everything (boat trips etc) well before you arrive as we missed out on the Whale Watching and we were so looking forward to it. We did however see whales and seals at Mizen Head which was spectacular. Had a great meal at Casey's of Baltimore. Also ate at Bushes Bar - lovely open sandwiches of prawns / crab / smoked salmon. Had breakfast at the Customs House - it's different but very nice. We had varied weather - great weather to start..... followed by Storm Ellen!! It was an experience to watch the local preparations on the day before Storm Ellen arrived. In summary, a great spot to chill out for a few days.
Beautiful area, remote yet active. Harbour area always buzzing. A pint and snack in Bushes a must, to relax and people-watch. plenty of walks, a few hills! Within driving distance of lots of West Cork areas.
I love Baltimore. Lots to do, sailing, kayaking, whale watching, trips.to the Islands... Plenty of bars and restaurants. Friendly people, good craic! Lough Hyne and Sherkin a must see. Fab walks and hikes.
The islands around the area are a quiet getaway from the hustle! Comparatively less crowded from the other WAWay hotspots, but with great food and locations to chill around if you are a nature person!
Really great place to visit, and beautiful scenery, lots of historical places to visit. Easy access to Sherkin and Cape Clear Islands, great walks. Lough Hyne is only a 10 minute drive away and definitely worth a visit. A climb up Knockmagh Hill you will be rewarded with stunning views.
