Hotel in Leenaun
On the shores of Killary Harbour lies Ireland's oldest coaching inn. Dating from 1796, you'll find traditional home cooking, antique furniture and the most spectacular views in Ireland. The location surrounding the hotel is breathtaking. The manager that greeted us at the hotel was very friendly and also made some recommendations for the sights around the area and for the rest of our trip - this was appreciated. We felt at home straight away. The room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the fjord. The bed was very comfortable. Our room was in the original building of the hotel and does not have a lift to the floors above - it didn't bother us at all. We liked the vintage look and feel of the hotel. The dinner in the bar that evening and the breakfast the next morning were delicious. By far our favourite hotel we stayed at during our trip. Would have loved to stay longer.

It is in a breathtaking part of the country with amazing views. The room was lovely with a great view. The staff were all brilliant. We ate in the bar and the service and food was amazing. We even got a recipe from waiter for the gorgeous treacle brown bread they serve. It was the first time we stayed in The Leenane Hotel and we can't wait to go back.
The area of Connemara is beautiful and there’s so much to see and do. And this hotel is right in the heart of Connemara so you can’t go wrong. It’s a beautiful building well appointed and has lovely facilities. Also felt very safe during Covid times.
