Wonderful Hotel with stunning views. Ideal for hikers & as it's dog friendly you can even bring your pet! Great Food, Friendly staff & will return again & again. Highly recommended a Deep Tissue Massage by Bart!!
Great visit. Everyone should stop in the Wool and Sheep Center. Great shopping. Seamus is a master weaver and gave us a fantastic lesson on wool and weaving. Don’t miss seeing Seamus, he is fun and full of knowledge. Take the Kildare Fjord Boat Tour and see beautiful scenery from the boat. Very informative talk and a relaxing 90 minutes on the water. Great food available on the boat. Amazing trip.
You could spend several days on the resort given all the different activities on offer, however there is plenty more to explore in the local towns and villages; Kylemore Abbey can take half a day, or even just take a bike/hike around the stunning fjord
The location and views are incredible. Photos don't do it justice nor appreciate the closeness to and size of the mountains. 10 minute stroll from/to the village and Leenane Hotel, with a couple of pubs, restaurants, shops and church. If you're active or intend to use Leenaun as a base, there's nothing nicer than a comfy seat, warm fire and a drink or meal on your return. If you're just staying local, the pubs are traditional and friendly and the hotel has excellent food and is very reasonably priced.
