Located in Kohīma in the Nagaland region, I.K Homestay provides accommodations with free private parking. Fitted with a terrace, the units feature a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with bath. The host was extremely sweet. He picked us up, cooked us extremely scrumptious food, and treated us like family. The accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. We really appreciated a comfortable stay after a really long travel involving changing two planes, and then a taxi ride down to Kohima.

Located in Kohīma in the Nagaland region, Maple Homestay provides accommodations with free private parking. There's a fully equipped shared bathroom with shower and slippers. It was incredibly nice with Christi and Xabi. I had a nice room with enough blankets for the cool nights. The food they cooked for me was super tasty as was the daily breakfast. You feel like a member of the family right from the start. In the evenings I often sat in front of the fireplace with Xabi and one day he took me on a great and interesting day trip to the Hornbill Festival site which was great. There is a very clear recommendation for this homestay from my side. It was really SUPERNICE! Christi and Xabi keep up the good work. Thanks for everything

The town is laid out over several hills with few areas that are quite congested. Morning traffic is very slow. The War Cemetery is very clean and well maintained. Plenty of places in and around the capital that attract tourits like Khonoma, Dzokou Valley, etc. Road from Dimapur is in a bad shape. It is a dry state. One need Inner Line Permit to go there, but mine was never checked.
I liked the fact that Kohima is a genuine local city, unspoilt by large foreign companies, apart from KFC, which had no customers when I passed it at lunchtime. The people are genuinely friendly, & smile a great deal, many people wish you well, even though they don't know you. The Hornbill Festival is a MUST if you can make it here in beginning of December. I found the Aurora Restaurant to be very good, clean & modern, with many Xmas decorations there. Access to the Festival site is by share taxi or bus, about 12 kilometres from the centre of Kohima.
Must visit for Hornbil. Only during this time that the festivities and night carnival takes place. December 01 to December 10. But no need to stay for too long as the city and surrounding attractions can be covered in 3 days.
Kohima is one of the key places to visit in nagaland. It has no airport. It’s 75 kms from dimapur airport, there’s taxis to hire at airport costing Rs 2000-4000 depending on Innova or sedan. The road is extremely bad, rough ride and somewhat scary. Our car broke down twice and we had to switch to a ride and then another taxi. Took 5 hours almost. Sunday’s everything’s closed as most people follow Christian faith Kohima is on and surrounded by hills, beautiful greenery, scenic drives, local villages, the naga state museum is well maintained, roads are very crowded all oneways, and it rains often. It is good for people who are ok with roughing it out and don’t mind bit of adversity adventure and simple facilities, esp coming from well oiled places. Naga people are very friendly and welcoming. Had great Naga food in local market. Solo travelers can walk around local markets, take sightseeing tours outside, and get to know local culture better.
