We stayed at this hotel for three nights as a family and left with very mixed feelings. Let’s start with the positives. The location is fantastic. Grotticelle Beach is just a short distance away and, after visiting several beaches in Calabria, it was our favorite. The hotel also provides a shuttle service back up from the beach, which is incredibly helpful because the climb is quite steep. We walked down every time and happily used the shuttle to return. The hotel grounds are beautiful. The landscaping deserves special praise. Whoever takes care of the gardens does an amazing job. There are so many beautiful plants, everything is well maintained, and it creates a lovely atmosphere. The pool area is also excellent, with clean water, new sun loungers, comfortable seating, showers, and toilets. Breakfast was acceptable but quite basic. There were boiled eggs, cheese, cold cuts, pastries, croissants, cereal, juice, and hot drinks. However, there was no fresh fruit, and after a few days the selection became repetitive. One thing future guests should know is that this is not a quiet hotel. Around 4:30 PM the entertainment staff starts playing loud music around the pool, making it difficult to relax there in the late afternoon. Every evening, around 10 PM, there is entertainment in the restaurant area with loud music until about 11 PM. During our stay there was even karaoke. If your room faces the restaurant, expect quite a bit of noise in the evenings.
