don't miss this gem tucked away from the tourists!

don't miss this gem tucked away from the tourists! its citizens respect and value their city! we walked for hours exploring the history and architecture of this city (12,000 population). the locals were so welcoming as we climbed and weaved through narrow streets and stairways. Nicosia is very walkable, has over 100 churches and around every corner it seemed we saw one. Our dinner at Antica Osteria was exceptional with fresh pasta, local pork followed with a biscotti and zibibbo dessert wine - all local Sicilian foods!!

It's interesting to discover this large village in the...

It's interesting to discover this large village in the mountainous interior of Sicily. A Sunday morning spent between mass, an aperitif in the sun amidst the lively atmosphere of Piazza Garibaldi, and the traditional shopping at the Pasticceria.

It would be appropriate for the municipality to put up signs and information about closed roads: going back becomes a desperate and difficult task due to the narrowness of the road and the parked cars.

An absolutely charming town, full of artistic and scenic...

An absolutely charming town, full of artistic and scenic treasures. Extremely well-maintained and enhanced by well-distributed, warm-toned lighting. The night view is spectacular. What's more, the food is excellent. It certainly deserves to be better known, like all of central Sicily, often overlooked in favor of the coast.
