Positano City Centre, Montepertuso, and Nocelle are popular with other travelers visiting Positano.
The physical location, restaurants, and shops were all great. It was certainly pricey, but that's to be expected, and it wasn't too hard to find cheaper options. If you don't like walking a lot, I wouldn't visit, but we actually enjoyed the physical challenges.
Beautiful town and splendid Amalfi views, but it's not for everyone. Very many steps to climb up and down. It makes it it even harder if the weather is hot. You need really good physical condition and very light luggage if you don't want to suffer. Also prices are highest than any other place in entire region, from accommodation to restaurants and of course parking.
Positano is beautiful to look at but not that pleasant to visit. To start with, parking is a nightmare - avoid driving there if possible. The town is quite small and was rammed with loads of people each time we went there (mid June). All the shops seem to stock a similar range of souvenirs and clothes and the restaurants/bars, especially near the sea, are very busy and expensive. The main attraction seems to be people watching.
Positano is a unique, beautiful small town with spectacular views. Plenty of good restaurants and small shops. The area is very hilly, the streets are narrow and were very crowded during our stay. The main beach area is small and is formed from fine black stones/ grit. Sun beds are available for 25 euros per day. We enjoyed our visit but found 3 days just about right.
Go to IL RITROVO restaurant in Montepertuso. UNREAL FOOD, UNREAL PEOPLE! Wonderful atmosphere. If you are staying in Montepertuso, hike to ''Montepertuso's hole'' Go to Fiore di Furore - beautiful quaint beach Go to Capri for the day! Have LIMONCELLO SPRITZ with every meal & Limoncello liquor:) Do the Path of Gods if you're fit and up for a beautiful hike! End the Path of Gods with restaurant in Agerola called Punto Ristroro Caffe Degli Dei - CHEAP, AUTHENTIC, outstanding Italian food, great people. Take sensible walking shoes as there are ENDLESS stairs. Bruno restaurante was also a fav of ours for lunch- scenic view and quick, reasonably priced Arabiatta! Trust us, the best Italian food and hosts were not in the popular tourist places! They were in unsuspecting, family run places.
Extremely picturesque. Expensive. Not for elderly - everything is hills and stairs. Food suffers from being a tourist destination. But 5 star meal and Hotel Palazzo. Currently, crowding > precovid times. Be warned. Definitely worth a boat trip expect 500-1000e. Beaches crowded and pebbles. But location is magical. Capri...too crowded to enjoy. Save the time. Visit Ravello. Do not drive unless you are a young, agile motorist.
Positano
Wow! Where to start…This hotel was completely amazing! Everything was perfect. The room, the staff, the cleaning, the Terrace, the view and not to talk about the delicious breakfast served on the balcony every morning. The coffee was just the best! Alcione Residence completely topped every expectation we had and it made our visit in Positano the very best! The staff here is lovely. So very helpful and caring in every way and I leave this place feeling loved and well taken care of. Thank you SO much for everything! 10/10! ♥️
This is the best boutique Hotel in Positano. On arrival, we were upgraded one of the premium suites. That suite (302) is absolutely stunning. Spacious, stylish and with sweeping views over Positano and onto the sea. The team at the Villa were very friendly, warm and welcoming. We stayed for 3 nights and could have stayed there for weeks. The restaurant downstairs is absolutely fabulous. We had the best meal there during our 10 day stay at the Amalfi Coast. Overall, this was a 11 out of 10 experience for us.
Positano
The hotel has an exceptional view of Positano with a small pool that makes it very easy to relax. The staff at Villa Mary is by far the best I've seen in my life. The staff was very kind, attentive, and accommodated one of my special requests (my girlfriend's engagement proposal). They organized everything and the proposal was truly a great moment that we will remember for the rest of our lives. I highly recommend a stay at Villa Mary, you won't regret it! Thank you Villa Mary! We will be back.
Positano
Beautiful property, comfortable room, wonderful balcony overlooking the sea. This was one of our favorite hotels on our trip to Italy. The breakfast delivered to our room to enjoy on the balcony each morning was a highlight. Steps down to Arienzo beach club made it so convenient to spend time on the beach. Outside of the main busy area of Positano while still possible to walk down to restaurants and shops. Christian was very attentive and helped with anything we needed. Definitely recommend staying here!
Positano
this is the best property in all of Positano!!!!! the hosts Giuseppe and Carla are so kind and sweet and make sure you have everything you need! They gave us free breakfast everyday we where there and made us feel like we were truly part of their Italian family! the view is insane! the only hotel we saw that was reasonable in price and had views of both the ocean and side of Positano! 100% recommend!
Very friendly family owned hotel. A little bit out of Positano central, but Giovanni is happy to drop you off at sponda (walking access to beach, main square, restaurants, port). he also recommended some great restaurants that had a free shuttle service. so location wasn’t an issue. it also made the stay very peaceful. great setting for breakfast in the morning. balcony views were fantastic.
the hotel was great. very clean. beautiful view from our room. great breakfast. very helpful staff. doesn’t matter which hotel you book in Positano, regardless you have to go 250 stairs up and down. it was a great experience. nice little town. Amalfi coast was nice too. we took the ferry there. but Positano was much better. plenty of restaurants. would stay in vittoria again😊😊😊👍🏼👍🏼
Positano
This place is fantastic. The views of Positano have got to be some of the best in the town, with uninterrupted sea views. It is a beautiful family ran hotel and Antonio who is one of the owners was very helpful, reserving restaurants, parking, getting food delivered for an evening meal and had all the local information you need. We’ll be booking to come back in a couple of months.
It was beautiful but not pretentious. There were stairs from main road but not bad. Stairs are expected when visiting Positano. The staff was great! Alfonso who was always at breakfast was so kind. If you need and want to hire a private boat to Capri or just to see the coast from water, his brother does that! So ask the hotel.
Positano
The hotel is amazing, we stayed in the helios suite. The best view of positano bay, amazing balcony hot tub and awesome room. Loved the room service cocktails, reasonably priced and always came with Italian snacks. Be sure to go down the private access steps to the beach, great experience but be ready for a hike back up! :)
The view is amazing! We have huge balcony with the sea view, its waking up every morning in paradise. The hotel is also near to the beach area with some hiking, but this cannot be avoided in Positano. The next best thing about this hotel is the restaurant nearby! Everything you need is just few steps away.
Absolutely wonderful property! Gorgeous views. Wonderful breakfast. All of the staff is extremely nice and very helpful. When my rental car broke down after leaving Positano they even helped me by calling a car service. They also will get you parking for your car very close to the hotel.
This boutique hotel has literally the best location as it sits about 150 meters away from a small and quiet beach, and away from the busier center of Positano. It also offers an amazing view of the beach and sea and rooms are bright and nicely furnished and decorated.
Positano
I was so surprised by this hotel! We snagged it as last minute availability so we were really worried. We were in love with its offerings! Spacious rooms, airy and quiet patio areas, and direct access fo the most exclusive beach in Positano. Underrated gem!
I like pretty much everything. Around the Amalfi coast most 4/5 Star Hotels are like small apartments but I really like this one cause it's real hotel touch. Great service, food and facilities. The room was perfect.
Amazing hotel on the beach in Positano! The room was immaculate, the staff were welcoming and accommodating, and the restaurant was phenomenal!
Very welcoming staff, the hotel is very clean and in an amazing location right on the beach and a short walk into the centre of Positano.
The views of Positano from the hotel are gorgeous. The restaurant is excellent. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
Amazing hotel and amazing staff - best hotel in Positano
Elegant, comfortable, furnished with impeccable taste. Every corner of hotel is different and unique. The view from the room is enchanting. Service is perfect. Memorable experience of dinner in restaurant A place you would dream to be back soon
