Il San Pietro di Positano, Le Sirenuse, and Hotel Eden Roc Suites got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Positano.
It's a beautiful town. We really enjoyed it, but were really glad to have gone during the low season. We were right at the end of the shoulder season and a few restaurants were closing, but it was nice because the town wasn't as overrun by tourists as it is during high season. I would suggest folks go before the end of October because everyone says that is the end of things. But, the weather was still beautiful in early November and it was a lovely place to be. I would suggest though that no one drive there. Even in low season, parking and driving was tricky. Just get a taxi to and from the town. Once you're there, you'll never drive. So just don't.
This area of the country is gorgeous. But, I wouldn't come back. So much traffic you can barely walk. Prices are crazy high. I agree with news reports, tourists have ruined it. Or at least marred it a bit. There just isn't all that much to do. Take a boat to another town. Or Capri which is a lot like Positano. Overpriced with lots of stairs. The stores are all the same, and not interesting at all. The beach isn't any fun, pebbles and no waves! OK, so I live in San Diego...
Positano is the most beautiful place with lots of restaurants and shops. Mouth dropping views. Hair raising bus drives but very competent drivers. Very friendly people. The Bar International is a must. You need some experience of walking up and down hills or steps because that’s all there is - no flat areas at all.
Beautiful views. Very expensive and felt gouged when we paid 50 Euro for taxi from Positano to Nocelle ( 10 min ride) and 15 Euro for Asiago cheese that was 4 Euros at mini mart in Nocelle. We spent 4 nights which was too long. Recommend a day trip or 2 nights max. Best lunch restaurant Casa e Botega. Dinner at Rifugio dei mele was great.
We all found Positano to be beautiful but the number of tourists daunting. Our first bus down found us standing both ways and hanging on for dear life (we’re talking 45 degrees up and down). What was it like when it was hot? The walk after that is through narrow warrens with shop after shop and so many people. Then there are the stairs - not as bad as I thought. Our best view was from our villa. We found LaZagara - unpretentious and good - for lunch. Da Gabrisa on the way down for dinner was lovely. We always had good food!
It was good amount of time if you plan to go to different islands every day, with a ferry or bus to explore, but to stay only in positano for seven days was a bit long. Nocelle ( the area where we were on the top of the hill ) was beautiful and quiet, but be prepared to wait for the bus to take you down to the center about once every hour. It takes about a half an hour to head down with all the traffic, but well worth it. There are a few restaurants within walking distance from the apartment, and a tiny market nearby, where the store owner will make the most delicious sandwiches for lunch or breakfast, so if you decide to stay in for a day, it’s very relaxing. Sergio the owner, was also awesome, he was a taxi driver who got us to the airport in Naples within an hour and ten minutes at 4:30 am. Great hosts, thank you Viola amd Sergio!! We will be back!
Positano
oh my goodness - worth every step to get there! an absolutely stunning, small boutique hotel that was everything we dreamed of for Positano. We had the two bedroom suite and it was beyond lovely and quiet and beautiful. and the VIEW! breakfasts are phenomenal - the spread is amazing and there is fresh water and cappuccino available all day and night. Michel and staff were so kind and it’s perfectly located close to the beach and main shopping street. would go back in a heartbeat!
Positano
Wow! I don’t think we could have picked a better location! This place has amazing views but without having to climb a million stairs like some places require in Positano! The views were honestly better than some of the pricey hotels nearby! Very easy access to the beach (a little bit of a climb but very easy for someone who barely exercises). The host was very friendly! The room was large, clean and quiet! We highly recommend this place and we hope to return one day!
The hotel is in a good location (15 minute walk to the beach) with incredible views. The walk to the beach allows you to see and experience so much of Positano on foot. The parking is off site and is a 2-3 minute walk to the hotel. There are a few flights of old steps to get from the main road to the hotel building which adds to the charm of the location. We were also very grateful to the luggage porters who transferred our bags from the car park to our room.
Positano
Maria was extremely helpful, especially with our bags. She was more than happy to receive our bag from the porters and put straight into the room. Similarly she helped us arrange the porters to collect our luggage when we were leaving. The location is great, fairly easy walk down into the centre of town but you may want to catch the bus or a taxi back up - there are so many stairs. Not a bad thing for the hotel, that's just Positano!
The staff was excellent and the rooms were the best we stayed in in all of Italy. The breakfast was made to order and even the baked goods made daily by Maria. We regretted only having booked one night. Some other highlights: Beach towels were provided in the room The Air conditioning was better than most hotels in Italy. The beds are firm (a good thing)
Positano
Everything was amazing. The host was 5 stars with us from the start to the end. Always helping us, always caring about us and asking if we needed any help. The house is perfect, it has everything that you need and it has AC. The only problem is the amount of stairs you have to climb to reach the house but Positano is full of stairs. It was perfect.
Everything was absolutely amazing. The staff was personable but gave us space, the facilities were incredibly clean and the food was some of the best we had in Italy. The views were worth every penny. It is a decent walk down many, many steps but I wouldn't have picked any other hotel and we will definitely be back!
The staff was super helpful and nice at any occasion. Especially, the staff at breakfast was exceptional, 5 star hotel level. The location is great, central and easy to get there. The view from the balcony was stunning.
Positano
I still can’t get over the unbelievable views from our room. The location is 5 stars! The best 3 nights at the Alcione, the staff were so friendly and the rooms were perfect! We would recommend to anyone!
Positano
