Hotel Royal Positano is surrounded by Positanos rocky cliffs, which drop down into clear blue sea. Relax in lush gardens on extensive sun terraces. this is a must if staying in Positano! Positano was a surprise, so dramatic, peaceful and beautiful. Stay up high on the hills not down on the beach otherwise you will miss the views. I could have stayed at our hotel the whole time as the staff and food were second to none.
It's a beautiful town. We really enjoyed it, but were really glad to have gone during the low season. We were right at the end of the shoulder season and a few restaurants were closing, but it was nice because the town wasn't as overrun by tourists as it is during high season. I would suggest folks go before the end of October because everyone says that is the end of things. But, the weather was still beautiful in early November and it was a lovely place to be. I would suggest though that no one drive there. Even in low season, parking and driving was tricky. Just get a taxi to and from the town. Once you're there, you'll never drive. So just don't.
This area of the country is gorgeous. But, I wouldn't come back. So much traffic you can barely walk. Prices are crazy high. I agree with news reports, tourists have ruined it. Or at least marred it a bit. There just isn't all that much to do. Take a boat to another town. Or Capri which is a lot like Positano. Overpriced with lots of stairs. The stores are all the same, and not interesting at all. The beach isn't any fun, pebbles and no waves! OK, so I live in San Diego...
Positano is the most beautiful place with lots of restaurants and shops. Mouth dropping views. Hair raising bus drives but very competent drivers. Very friendly people. The Bar International is a must. You need some experience of walking up and down hills or steps because that’s all there is - no flat areas at all.
Beautiful views. Very expensive and felt gouged when we paid 50 Euro for taxi from Positano to Nocelle ( 10 min ride) and 15 Euro for Asiago cheese that was 4 Euros at mini mart in Nocelle. We spent 4 nights which was too long. Recommend a day trip or 2 nights max. Best lunch restaurant Casa e Botega. Dinner at Rifugio dei mele was great.
We all found Positano to be beautiful but the number of tourists daunting. Our first bus down found us standing both ways and hanging on for dear life (we’re talking 45 degrees up and down). What was it like when it was hot? The walk after that is through narrow warrens with shop after shop and so many people. Then there are the stairs - not as bad as I thought. Our best view was from our villa. We found LaZagara - unpretentious and good - for lunch. Da Gabrisa on the way down for dinner was lovely. We always had good food!
The hotel is in the center of Positano, in the main street, which makes it very easy to access when staying there. It is in excellent condition, very well maintained and pristine clean. The staff is professional, friendly, courteous, and helpful, they do their best to ensure your stay is unforgettable. They all speak good English, which is a great advantage. The view is spectacular and breakfast is taken to your room at a time you select, which you can enjoy in the balcony while looking out at the beautiful view.
Positano
oh my goodness - worth every step to get there! an absolutely stunning, small boutique hotel that was everything we dreamed of for Positano. We had the two bedroom suite and it was beyond lovely and quiet and beautiful. and the VIEW! breakfasts are phenomenal - the spread is amazing and there is fresh water and cappuccino available all day and night. Michel and staff were so kind and it’s perfectly located close to the beach and main shopping street. would go back in a heartbeat!
Positano
Out of this world amazing, probably our best stay in Italy. Wonderful unit and insane views, Ambra was very helpful and nice. We Didn't want to leave. Parked car downstairs in private garage, very convenient. Positano our new favorite place. Be warned w/ the elevation down to seashore, we took cab back for 30 euros, dont think we could have walked back up after exhausting day. Pricey but absolutely worth it and in line w/ other offerings anyways.
Everything about this hotel was exceptional but if I had to name its best features, it would be the view of Positano and the amazing staff! Day or night the view from our room or dinning facility was phenomenal. The staff went above and beyond the call to make us comfortable and provided us with information of the town, restaurants and activity’s to do. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place and I’ll be telling all my friends about it.
Best view of the famous rock of positano. The reception was perfect and really ready to inform you and to help you for everything.they bring our car and they take it to the parking. Very important for the tourist because we didn't know the place and we didn't speak italian , so this was very helpful! The breakfast was perfect in the balcony of the hotel the view was amazing but they can put something more in the breakfast menu !
Positano
Booked a very last minute room in this amazing hotel. The staff is super friendly and they even gave me an upgrade the moment I arrived. They were overall super helpful with all my wishes and requests. I honestly think it is on the best location of Positano, next to the church and super central. The view is amazing and the rooms are super clean and nicely decorated. I would definitely come back and would recommend this to everyone!
One of my favorite hotels in the world! 5 stars service! Hotel staffs were so friendly and they were always ready to help us out with everything. The ocean view from the room was spectacular, newly renovated spotlessly clean room, great location and the breakfast was just amazing. Nothing to complain about we're very happy with our stay at hotel montemare we would definitely go back next year.
My husband and I loved our stay at hotel Poseidon! We were visiting Positano to celebrate my 30th birthday and the hotel staff were amazing and made our stay so special. The location was great with incredible views and the breakfast was delicious! We also loved our room which was upgraded for my birthday so we had a lovely ocean view with a spacious, comfortable room.
Hotel Il Gabbiano is situated perfectly along Positano’s hillside with an exquisite panoramic view of the coastline and Tyrrhenian Sea. Although climbing the stairs up to the hotel is not for the faint of heart, the hotel’s view and service are well worth the trek. Hiking up the numerous stairs makes you feel fully immersed in this cliffside village’s way of life.
The cutest stay I’ve ever had! The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of the main areas of Positano. You pass by a lot of great restaurants and the walk to the beach is not far at all. The area of the beach you can walk to is much less crowded as well. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Your view is great regardless of which room you choose
Location was convenient to the ferry port in the heart of Positano, so it was easy to get around. We loved their terrace for a drink in the evening and they had an excellent restaurant (make reservations in advance for dinner!). The pictures don't do the hotel justice, so know that you're getting something better than advertised, which is rare!
Location was perfect, right on the beach! By far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Very clean, the maid service was exceptional. They also provide a beach bag with towels. The restaurant was also the best in Positano. Staff was amazing. Would definitely come back and recommend!
Positano
Hotle was very quaint with a lovely warm staff who were very welcoming and accommodating. The position of the hotel was convenient offering access to both beaches - though a longer walk to Positano which was fine for us. The views from the balcony were lovely and inviting.
Hotel Savoia was a great stay in Positano! It’s centrally located… steps to the main road and beach. The staff is very pleasant and professional. Our view from our room was to die for. I would definitely stay here again when I return.
Positano
I still can’t get over the unbelievable views from our room. The location is 5 stars! The best 3 nights at the Alcione, the staff were so friendly and the rooms were perfect! We would recommend to anyone!
perfect hotel, with absolutely breathtaking views of positano, really spacious room with beautiful balcony. Pool is also really enjoyable as the beach is a good bit away, with lots of steps involved !
a friendly hotel in an absolutely beautiful spot with pool and beach access
