We stayed for 5 days and it was incredible. The staff were very friendly and professional. I felt that they really cared about us and our stay. They really helped us with getting a taxi from naples to the hotel which was a huge stress reliever. The staff went out of their way to help us navigate when we had issues with the bus and ferry and answers the phone immediately. Bed was very comfy and the AC worked perfectly. The cleaning staff were so nice and accommodating. Breakfast was brought to our room exactly on time and simple but very good. The lobby is adorable with a great view! I would absolutely stay here again. I miss it already! location is amazing for restaurants, grocery, bars, and bus stop. 10 min walk to the beach and ferry.

Our hosts were incredible. Giovanni and his sister took such good care of us. You are 10 minutes out of positano which is really great because Positano is busy. He shuttles you in and out or you can walk. He also booked beautiful restaurants for us and had cars waiting to pick us up and take us back. It was all part of the package. The restaurants were amazing and we always had the best table with the best view of Positano and its beautiful sunsets. The hotel is beautiful and clean and overlooks the ocean which sparkles everyday. Giovanni had the best breakfast in all of Amalfi on a patio that is stunning. There was a lot of care and detail in our stay here. We were always met every morning with a smile and "how can I help you today?" Cool little tidbit... If you are going to hike the path of the gods there are stairs not too far from the hotel that you come down on which means you don't have to hike the positano stairs. Warning though it's about a thousand and some steps. We think this hotel is the Jewel of Positano on the Amalfi coast.
Hotel Poseidon enjoys breathtaking sea views from its sun terrace. The beach and Positano's historic center are within walking distance.

This destination really does require a lot of walking and the ability to manage a lot of stairs. Thankfully, we were able to manage but I imagine that if you have any physical impairments you may consider staying close to where you will be eating/shopping/ect.

Nice setting (that is why people go there), but way too much people and a little difficult to get around of course. All accommodation is way overpriced. Food is great if you stay out of the main harbour area.

Reminded me of St Ives in Cornwall without the beaches.
Reminded me of St Ives in Cornwall without the beaches. Overcrowded with predominantly American tourists. This was reflected in the prices of everything from food to clothing. Sorrento half the price and much less crowded. Literally shuffling along the streets. Museum is excellent if you can find the ticket office (in the tourist info point behind the ceramic shop at the bottom of the stairs to the cathedral). Some amazing art galleries. Beaches are difficult to access unless you are staying at the bottom of the stairs. Not suitable for those with limited mobility / fitness. Very steep as is most of the Amalfi coast to be fair. Lovely local people.

If you are considering an Amalfi coast trip , I would book a tour where all transport is pre organised.
Buses are crowded and the queues are diabolical.
Trip to Capri was just as hectic .( Give yourself plenty of time on the island for lining up .) Most time is spent negotiating the public transport system.

The tourism is what makes Positano have a heart beat yet the locals treat tourists with such disrespect.
“if you don’t accept 40euro to be driven 5min up the mountain to your hotel, the next tourist will” and they are proud of this.
The quality and standard of food and beverages is also uninspiring. They don’t put love into it and don’t care but will charge you a kidney for it. Think twice before choosing to stay in Positano. Beautiful to see but to commute up and down the Clyde is almost impossible without a car/scooter and you will pay through the nose doing so!
Locals suggest staying in Sorrento for accessibility and affordability purposes
If you are going to stay in Positano… stay at Casa Roberta
i would rate 100/10 if i could. the hotel is brilliant. it exceeded my expections. the staff are so helpful. we have the same view as le sirenuse in positano which is one of the best views of the city. the breakfast was brilliant with so many options. the location, the room, the cleanliness everything is exceptional. one of the best hotels in europe i have visited. special mention to the front desk staff who were so helpful and kind. thank you again and definitely coming back to stay here again
The location must be one of the best in Positano. The hotel is centrally located with incredible views. Short walk down to the beach. Our room was lovely - traditionally furnished, very spacious, beautiful high ceilings and great balcony with a stunning view over the ocean and Positano hillside. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We’ll be staying here again if visiting Positano. Really great value for money
The view from the proerty were amazing and presented Positano at its best. The property is 1st class and the hosts that live below, where nothing but helpful and available if required. This propoerty is run more of a hotel annexe than a apartment or villa. We would highly recommend.
Lovely family run hotel with beautiful decor. Terrace area had very comfy chairs & loungers with fabulous view of Positano and the sea. Food was excellent. Staff very good, friendly & attentive. Room very spacious with lovely balcony with views
This historic hotel gave us everything we could have wanted during our stay in Positano. The hotel had a beautiful view of the Mediterranean and offered us a comfortable place to wind down after our lengthy stay in Italy.
