Everything was closed during Dec, no where to eat and only few shops were open, spent 3 nights and it was too long with no where to eat and not much to do, walked daily for spectacular views! Lots of stairs to climb and I would definitely avoid coming December-March.

Positano is beautiful, but I would go back in the summer...

Positano is beautiful, but I would go back in the summer when we could use the beach. Stairs ! Stairs! Stairs! I didn't believe it until I seen it with my own eyes how much stairs there are. If you have trouble with stairs or walking Positano could be a difficult area. Luggage is also difficult to carry around here, and there is only 1 major road and if your not staying at a hotel on that road, there are alot of steps to get there.

    Positano is a dream!

Positano is a dream! The views are enchanting, there's a good amount of things to do in town and in neighboring towns. It is quite expensive and the company matters (more of a couples destination but there were friends and families there as well). You'll walk a lot but there's buses pretty regularly. I went in early September, just outside of high season and it was the best, couldn't imagine going in summer because the crowds would be horrific.

Lost in the mystical charm of Positano, where worries fade away and breathtaking beauty takes center stage. Dive into the tranquility of this Italian gem, where nature's wonders intertwine with mesmerizing mountain views and sparkling sea horizons. A few days here and you'll emerge as a transformed soul, forever enchanted. Unwind on exquisite beaches, where the rhythm of the coast sets your heart free.

Positano is of course beautiful, and I would hate to deter anyone from experiencing that beauty if it is on one's bucket list. That said, it was so crowded, September 13 - 16 that I did not enjoy it as I did when I visited in 2011, and likely would not visit again. If one does not enjoy crowds, perhaps research a better time of year or differnt location to visit, beautiful Italy. If one decides to visit the Amalfi in spite of the crowds, I recommend to experience the sea, via ferry, which is very inexpensive and easy, or a private charter boat, which is amazing, but will cost $1500/day. I also recommend to enjoy the beach which were not as crowded and very pleasent.

    Our first lodging was terrible.

Our first lodging was terrible. Once we moved, we had a beautiful room, courteous staff and a fantastic view at Hotel Nilde. A taxi took us right to the front door instead of the arduous walk to the Villa Nannina.

Incredible location for a reasonable price. Right on the beach and in the heart of Positano. The hotel is minimally staffed and does not have a front desk, which was no problem for us at all but I guess could be for others. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had a magnificent view of the water with a small balcony. A/C worked great. Stay here if you want to be in the heart of things and don't expect to need extensive concierge services. Don't stay here if you want a lot of assistance with your trip.

The room was incredible and modern. The view from the room and the terrace are breath taking! Everything was very clean and Valerio our host is an amazing person! Everything was well organized and Valerio helped us a lot with coordinating our transfer and recommending the best restaurants. We also stayed in other hotels in Positano however the service and hospitality we received at Terrazza Zaffiro was the best. We are looking forward to come back to this beautiful place.

The sea view from the balcony was lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast terrace was also gorgeous with an interesting selection of items. Best though was the enormous cappuccino. The hotel is about an hour brisk walk to/from Positano so it is less touristy and quieter - although vehicle traffic was a little noisy. There is a beach that is much less busy than the positano beach but it is a trek with stairs to get to/from.

Jacky is the best host in Positano for sure! With a welcome lemonade he makes you feel like home immediately. The location is perfect and the breakfast is better than many other hotels, highly recommended! You have to pass through a carpark to get to the apartment but don't worry the place is surveilled 24/7. We would come back at night with no problem. We had a really good time and will definitely come back!

we stayed at Villa Mary as the first stop to our honeymoon. and wow!! The views were amazing and breakfast was served every morning on our private patio. It was me and my wife’s first time in Positano and we absolutely loved this boutique hotel. Tiziana knows all about the city so what ever you need she’s got you! The hotel is amazing, it exceeded my expectations. The views are breathtaking and the staff is so friendly it makes you want to stay longer. Also the location was great, in Positano there are lots of stars to climb but this hotel is right in the middle, not enough stairs to make you tired but the right amount to give you the best views of the city.

This is the most beautiful place to stay. We got married here and it was so wonderful to go back and visit. The villa is stunning, every detail is so special and the views are the best in Positano. The food is also the best we have ever had in Italy thanks to Chef Nick!
