It is a fantastic town - very small so can seem very busy but totally worth the stay - way more steps than I had expected but if I had thought about it it is a town built on a cliff side - wouldn’t recommend for elderly people who have difficulty walking. As one waiter summed it up: “In Positano we have no belly but our knees are broken”!
One of the beautiful places I have ever been, I couldn't recommend it enough! The views are amazing but also loved all the little streets leading down to the beach. Our favourite restaurant was Bruno, which surprisingly was one of the most reasonably priced but had the best views! The easiest way to get here is definitely taxi, we ended up getting a bus from Naples airport to Naples train station, followed by a train to Sorrento and then a bus to Positano! This took about 3 hours but only cost around 15 euros each. One thing I will say is that Positano is extremely expensive - probably the most expensive place I have ever visited in Europe! I was charged 5 euros for a bottle of diet coke and 25 euros per person to hire a sunbed on the beach.
We stayed down at the beach, which I consider was the best way to go. Positano is a bit more expensive than the other surrounding towns. We took out scooters to go to the neighboring towns which we consider it’s a must. Loved the experience, the views and the stay
A picture postcard-perfect sea port, ideal for excursions by boat to Capri and Amalfi. Must love stairs! If you collect sea glass, take a bag and plenty of time to explore the local beaches. The water is glorious for swimming. There was a choice of many excellent restaurants with superb ocean views, especially Pupetto--should have a Michelin star--and Saracen d'Oro--top service and menu. If you have good balance, are not afraid of heights, enjoy two to three-hour walks, and can scramble down rocky sections of mountain trails, the Path of the Gods is an ideal outing for spectacular views. One recommendation is to carefully plan transportation. Bus trips are challenging for travelers who are prone to motion sickness. Train, boat, and taxi travel may be better options.
Out of season visit. Weather unpredictable. Storms / rough seas meant our excursions to capri / Amalfi cancelled. Sea was cold but as expected, still a lovely visit but trickier to organise transport as many ferries don’t run out of season & reliable transfer back to flight in Naples can be upwards of€150 in a taxi. Buses not always reliable/ on time. Apparently very southern Italy so don’t rely on those for airport transfer
A place with fantastic views. Be ready for endless stairs, but it is good if you want to do some sport:) Positano is placed in the hill where the height difference between the sea level and your stay could be significant. But don't worry, there are a lot of rest places in between, bars, restaurants are all over the place. Food is excellent, staff friendly, so no problems at all. If you are more sporty type, you can do some nice trials around Positano (Nocelle, Il Sentiero Degli Dei - Path of the Gods). You can take a bus to Nocelle and start there, for more though ones, you can start from Positano but be ready for some 1700 steps! So, just enjoy it. The view is fantastic!
The room terrace offered a breathtaking view of Positano and the coast. We loved relaxing out in the chairs throughout the day and evening. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast buffet offered a large variety of foods and was served out on the hotel terrace with a stunning view. When we arrived a hotel staff assisted us with our luggage up the more than 40 stairs to the lobby entrance. Would highly recommend Saraceno d'Oro Ristorante Pizzeria which is a short walk from the hotel.
Positano
The room was incredible and modern. The view from the room and the terrace are breath taking! Everything was very clean and Valerio our host is an amazing person! Everything was well organized and Valerio helped us a lot with coordinating our transfer and recommending the best restaurants. We also stayed in other hotels in Positano however the service and hospitality we received at Terrazza Zaffiro was the best. We are looking forward to come back to this beautiful place.
Best Hotel I have stayed in Italy. The location is superb! you have the best view of Positano. The pool and sun deck was absolutely amazing. The infinity pool overlooks the ocean with amazing views. Buffet breakfast was great with a huge selection of food. The hotel has it's own private beach down the bottom which you need to pay for (well worth it though). Only a short walk to the town restaurants. Very Very happy!! Hotel Marincanto we will definitely be back!!
Positano
Amazing living experience! Not far from Positano, very close to bus stop to the villages on Amalfi coast. The best is the good service and nice feelings from stuff and owner. Besides, the restaurant is very good too. We ate there everyday and found out it’s Michelin guide restaurant on the last day. Also, we enjoyed the big terrace a lot. Thanks owner Giuseppe for all the help and made our holiday better. I would highly recommend this hotel
first of all I’d like to say that this hotel deserves more stars! absolutely amazing property! I loved the location. it’s in the centre of everything in Positano. I had the most amazing room, spacious, clean and the most amazing view. I had breakfast in the balcony every day with the beautiful view. the washroom also was lovely with a Moroccan hammam type shower area! staff were friendly and helpful. overall I loved it.
Positano
everything was amazing. the location was brilliant, a real hidden gem, the terrace is breathe taking! hosts were brilliant and easy to contact. word of warning, positano is full of slopes and stairs and there are quite a lot to reach the property but worth it and no more than any other hotel in the centre. breakfast was simple but perfect, croissants, bread, jams, yoghurt, coffee. just loved it thank you Luigi and Ciro
Positano
The location is exclusive to Positano, there is no other place like this. The room was overlooking the ocean, and it was both clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. There is also access to a private beach that the hotel offers to their guests, and it’s absolutely magical. The view from the beach is stunning and gives you a picture perfect view of Positano. The staff were also professional, friendly and helpful.
the setting is breath-taking. the hotel is very traditional with lots of character, the staff are superb and always happy to help with anything. there are amazing views from anywhere, the restaurants for all of breakfast, lunch and dinner are some of the best in positano. highly recommend dinner at Zass! if you didn't want to leave the hotel, you would not have to and still have a great time.
Positano
staff absolutely friendly and helpful with anything (helping find a garage, book boat trips, find breakfast, male restaurant reservations, etc) the place was clean and super comfy, best located in the heart of positano. the most important things (bakery, restaurants, port, shops) were in only 2 min walking distance - top! a very recommandable alternative to all these 5 star expensive hotels!
The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel facilities were amazing. The room was huge with a beautiful balcony with a stunning view and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast had so many delicious options that you could sit there for hours. Definitely the best hotel I have ever stayed and for sure I will return there. The hotel Poseidon team made my stay in Positano memorable!
Our room was directly on the water with a spectacular view of Positano. The hotel staff were very nice. They had parking directly at street level and carried our luggage down the incredibly steep stairs for us (with a smile). They even offered us a bottle of Prosecco for our anniversary along with a little snacks. The breakfast was very good and the dining room was picture perfect.
Amazing place to stay, situated in the centre of Positano near the beach. The hotel staff were very friendly from start to finish. The rooms were spacious and clean. Restaurant set in the hotel gardens was beautiful and breakfast was extremely good with waiter service. Pool area was stunning with views over the bay, pool waiter was very attentive.
Great location! It was very close to the beach, shops and Santa Maria Assunta Church. We had a view of the steeple, right outside the window. The hotel was very clean, included breakfast and they have good advice for restaurants. The shuttle will pick you up to go to the top of Positano for dinner.
Positano

The location was good. It wasn't to far from the beach and right next to stores and restaurants. Not too many stairs to get here unlike most of the hotels in Positano. The staff was friendly and always very helpful. The breakfast was amazing.
