Positano is a beautiful place to visit the view is spectacular but the transportation and the customer service in general is awful, they need improve with that area except the Casa Ivis Positano host when we stay, she is amazing, very happy with her.
Positano was a surprise, so dramatic, peaceful and beautiful. Stay up high on the hills not down on the beach otherwise you will miss the views. I could have stayed at our hotel the whole time as the staff and food were second to none.
It's a beautiful town. We really enjoyed it, but were really glad to have gone during the low season. We were right at the end of the shoulder season and a few restaurants were closing, but it was nice because the town wasn't as overrun by tourists as it is during high season. I would suggest folks go before the end of October because everyone says that is the end of things. But, the weather was still beautiful in early November and it was a lovely place to be. I would suggest though that no one drive there. Even in low season, parking and driving was tricky. Just get a taxi to and from the town. Once you're there, you'll never drive. So just don't.
This area of the country is gorgeous. But, I wouldn't come back. So much traffic you can barely walk. Prices are crazy high. I agree with news reports, tourists have ruined it. Or at least marred it a bit. There just isn't all that much to do. Take a boat to another town. Or Capri which is a lot like Positano. Overpriced with lots of stairs. The stores are all the same, and not interesting at all. The beach isn't any fun, pebbles and no waves! OK, so I live in San Diego...
Positano is the most beautiful place with lots of restaurants and shops. Mouth dropping views. Hair raising bus drives but very competent drivers. Very friendly people. The Bar International is a must. You need some experience of walking up and down hills or steps because that’s all there is - no flat areas at all.
Beautiful views. Very expensive and felt gouged when we paid 50 Euro for taxi from Positano to Nocelle ( 10 min ride) and 15 Euro for Asiago cheese that was 4 Euros at mini mart in Nocelle. We spent 4 nights which was too long. Recommend a day trip or 2 nights max. Best lunch restaurant Casa e Botega. Dinner at Rifugio dei mele was great.
Positano
The best run hotel in Positano. Francesca and her fabulous family take great care of you while you are their guests. They go above and beyond. The room was very large, the bed was comfortable and the best part was the view of the Sea and the Cathedral from your terrace. You are located right in the middle of Positano, but there is no city noise. We slept like a baby. Steps from all the best restaurants, shops and a short walk down to the beach and marina. Please make your reservation at this amazing hotel. You will not regret your stay!!
Positano
The room was incredible and modern. The view from the room and the terrace are breath taking! Everything was very clean and Valerio our host is an amazing person! Everything was well organized and Valerio helped us a lot with coordinating our transfer and recommending the best restaurants. We also stayed in other hotels in Positano however the service and hospitality we received at Terrazza Zaffiro was the best. We are looking forward to come back to this beautiful place.
Positano
Amazing and friendly staff! Giuseppe helped us even before we arrived at the hotel, through the booking chat. The room is big and we loved the balcony! It’s perfect. We also loved the breakfast! Homemade breads, fresh fruits, eggs… 😍 The location was really good for us! We like to walk and it was nice to get to know other places besides Positano Center. There’s a Bus stop in front of the hotel, which was also good. The restaurant is amazing! loved our dinners there.
Positano
Maria was extremely helpful, especially with our bags. She was more than happy to receive our bag from the porters and put straight into the room. Similarly she helped us arrange the porters to collect our luggage when we were leaving. The location is great, fairly easy walk down into the centre of town but you may want to catch the bus or a taxi back up - there are so many stairs. Not a bad thing for the hotel, that's just Positano!
Best view of the famous rock of positano. The reception was perfect and really ready to inform you and to help you for everything.they bring our car and they take it to the parking. Very important for the tourist because we didn't know the place and we didn't speak italian , so this was very helpful! The breakfast was perfect in the balcony of the hotel the view was amazing but they can put something more in the breakfast menu !
utterly amazing location- the views were ridiculous, even when compared to the walk of the gods and the remainder of Positano. An afternoon by the pool was other worldly. The rooms were comfortable, staff impeccable and service second to none. negative reviews concerned me, but they were clearly unfounded. if you are a vaguely reasonable human you will adore your stay at this fabulous hotel.
It is really clean ane beatiful hotel. I really like all the tiles of the floor. It is so beautiful and clean. I will remember Positano surely. And the stuffs are so nice and helpful. We have porter to helo for luggage which is really great! The breakfast is nice with many choices, especailly for fruit which is really good. We had one dinner in the hotel, it is good service and nice food.
Positano
This is one of the best hotels i stay at in Italy, the location, the cleanliness, the magic view, and most of all, we were hosted by an amazing kind person Antonio. He helped us a lot before the arrival on the way arounds, the luggage and recommendations in where to eat and go during our stay. Thank you Antonio for making our stay an outstanding experience.
The cutest stay I’ve ever had! The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of the main areas of Positano. You pass by a lot of great restaurants and the walk to the beach is not far at all. The area of the beach you can walk to is much less crowded as well. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Your view is great regardless of which room you choose
This was one of our favourite hotels from our recent tour of Italy - and we stayed in some very nice ones too. The room was comfortable with a large terrace with views and Positano itself is amazing, but this hotel has the most helpful and friendliest staff that we have ever experienced. We would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Positano.
Positano
The breakfast out on the terrace overlooking the incredible view was wonderful! The location is fantastic with an internal Positano bus stop just down the street. The rooms were very spacious, and the bathrooms were amazing with a shower that had a rainfall head, six body jets and a sprayer head. A must-experience hotel when in Positano!
Positano
Everything about this place and host has exceeded my expectations. I feel it was a gem we found in Amalfi coast. Even if I could stay in an expensive 5 star hotel I would still choose Villa Macina. And Amelia, the host, made us feel like we stayed at friend's or relatives home rather than Airbnb
A very nice hotel offering the best view of Positano, I have requested for a specific room and I was given just that, couldn't be happier. The location is a nice bonus as it is near the bus drop off point and the stair climbing was not a lot compared to other places. Service was very good.
Veronica couldn’t have been more helpful with all of our requests and questions. To us, the hotel was perfectly located as an escape from the city center. The food at the restaurant (and the homemade orange marmalade at breakfast) was some of the best we had in Positano.
Positano
5 STAR!!! Wow!!! this property made our trip!!! unbelievable views first class service steps from downtown Positano yet you have the beauty and quiet by being in the hills above the town. the owners/host were most attentive and gracious.
perfect hotel, with absolutely breathtaking views of positano, really spacious room with beautiful balcony. Pool is also really enjoyable as the beach is a good bit away, with lots of steps involved !
