Located in San Miniato, 20 miles from Montecatini Train Station and 24 miles from Santa Maria Novella, LE MAMMOLE provides accommodations with free WiFi, air conditioning, a shared lounge and a... Brand new house with excellent facilities. Set in a very quiet country area. The rooms have air conditioning, but with the mosquito nets on the windows, it was possible to sleep very comfortably without using aircon, despite the high temperatures of the day. Swimming pool is being finished in a few weeks.

San Miniato is a small town divided in two parts, low and high. San Miniato Basso (low) houses commercial areas, large supermarkets etc. The high city is the old town with a lot of history to be discovered.
We went to San Miniato for part of the annual truffle festival (last 3 weekends in November) and we weren't disappointed! The whole town smelled delicious - the food market sprawls throughout the old town and is full of wonderful, interesting ingredients and food experiences. San Miniato itself is a lovely old hilltop town rich in heritage, and very picturesque. There are some lovely activities available in the local area - we were able to go truffle hunting with a local family and their gorgeous dog. The Tuscan countryside in autumn was spectacular. Definitely recommend having a car - the streets of the town are very narrow and winding, so just a small one maybe - but the area begs to be explored and it's not as easy if you are relying on public transport. San Miniato is within very easy striking distance of Pisa airport, and Florence. Will certainly be going back!
Great little hidden gem! The food is amazing, best I had in Italy! Visit the local butcher shop for lunch called Serigo Falaschi 4 generations strong all organic meat! you’ll have experience to remember, tell them Chef Mahogany sent ya. There is small bus service but it’s limited to keep in mind, and be ready to walk a lot, but it’s very small town, maybe 10 blocks in total! Don’t be fooled into booking with Airbnb, get hotel it’s worth it, and there are a lot issues with insects, so I recommend a place with A/C and keeping windows closed. Try Plazza de Populo in the square best restaurant in town for dinner! Ciao!
San Miniato is a very small Tuscan town it is very typically Italian however compared to others in the area like Sienna or Lucca it is not as large or interesting. This is the heart of truffle country and I am led to believe there is a festival in November which I am sure would be worth a visit. The surrounding countryside is beautiful for walkers, cyclists etc. We stayed in a villa on the outskirts of the town which was very peaceful and quiet and served as a base for exploring the area.
San Miniato is a lovely hill town with with good access from FI-PI-LI motorway. It is quiet, not crowded with tourists, still good possibilities to eat and drink well. Must see are the tower on top of the hill, the cathedral, palaces and old town streets.
A geniune small italian town with lots of character. The town has a lot of small cafes, resturaunts and shops that have not lost any authenticity. The town is a bit of a hidden gem as there still isn't many tourists.
Absolutely perfect location to access everything in San Miniato. perfect, modern, airy appartment with the best view you could ever need to make you feel completely detached from a very busy world. lovely restaurants within 2 min walk, also a craft beer shop that does amazing sandwiches, trust me it’s popular! A Deli shop with all you need to retreat back to the appartment if you don’t want to venture.
We loved Walter's apartment. Everything was so well thought-out and so thoughtful.. We have been traveling throughout italy and this was the absolute best place we have stayed. Don't hesitate to book. Also the town is wonderful One of my favorites because it's not over run with tourists. We are so happy we stopped over here.
What I enjoyed the most of the hotel was the location. I had a nice view and the city centre was just around the corner. Breakfast was fine. A bit high end for pilgrims along the via Francigena but sometimes a treat is needed. Shame the spa wasn't open, the hotel told me in advance so I was aware of it.
Was an amazing Expirience the Host were super nice and friendly. Lori was lovely and provided one of the best breakfests i had in an hotel. Also a big plus for the terrace. Hotel Dog 10/10 Would definetly come back again.
Nice staying: Exceptional breakfast with homemade cakes and cookies. Helpful owner. Nice room and private parking on site. Close (by car) to San Miniato village. You can get some good rests here also in cold winter time.
The villa is stunning. Very romantic. Beautiful rooms and gardens. An ideal hotel for weddings. Good breakfast, but a buffet would be so much easier and quicker than the ordering and reordering.
It’s rather 10++. Very-very beautiful. Very nice people, good location. Breakfast was delicious and rich. The pool area is really cool. Excellent hotel.
Host Vittorio is a true gentleman, all the time taking care of his little paradise in the middle of San Miniato. Highly recommend a stay at La Farfalla.
The host Alessio was kind, the apartment is very clean, kitchen great equiped, good location, free parking near.
I liked only the location of the hotel. it's located in city centre. the staff was helpful.
