The property itself is nice, some of the rooms are old. Ours in particular was facing a parking lot even though we spent €250+ per night. The animation team is fun for kids and they played the euro games on a big screen which was fun. The beach and beach bar is nice.

Gorgeous beaches and the sea was clear and beautifully blue.Scenery was out of this world and the city center was quaint and lovely. The very thing you would expect from a southern Italian town. The locals were very helpful and friendly. Lovely place to spend a couple days.

Tropea is a great destination if you are wanting traditional itslian good and culture but also want to feel like your on a deserted island. First off the beaches are of plenty to choose from with soft sand, sun beds and plenty of cafes and restaurants attached to the beach. It's AFFORDABLE they don't over charge like other places and the food was possibly the best quality I've had and mind you I've done almost every city in italy.
The locals are lovely, kind and friendly and really treat you like family most speak English but it's an older demographic so brush up on your Italian. The night-life is spectacular and there's always something fun to do and see. Great for kids and big family's who want to spend less but RELAX. can't wait to go back

Tropea has amazing beaches, and it’s perfect if you’re a beach lover. The historic center is cute. They have a lot of restaurants. You can visit nearby Scila, take a day trip to the Aeolian Islands, or a 3 hour cruise to Capo Vaticano. La Conchiglia restaurant was very good, and if you don’t mind not staying exactly in the center, I recommend Residenze Ro.Ma. Great staff, very clean, great breakfasts

We visited Tropea in the first half of April.
We visited Tropea in the first half of April. The weather was pleasant and the city wasn´t crowded. Many of the restaurants and bars were still closed before the real season start but there were still plenty of options. Parking wasn´t very easy (and I expect to get some fines in the upcoming weeks).

I was there out of season.
I was there out of season. Many restaurants in Tropea were shut but enough. More opened at the weekend.
Public transport seems limited to the trains. Tropes is on a branch line and at best the trains are every 2 hours. There are lots of beaches to explore.
Access to the hills. Would require some research.
Excellent location right in the middle of old Tropea village.
The hosts were so such a beautiful friendly and helpful family. Rosina prepared traditional Calabrian breakfast every morning it was fresh and, so beautiful with the most amazing views over the bay. We certainly did not need to eat lunch. Saverio and his younger brother, the hosts sons were on summer holiday and were helping out. he spoke great English and was very informative with the history of Tropea and just being so kind I would highly recommend for anyone to stay here.
Everything was just perfect! Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a terrace with an amazing view. Breakfast is very good (for Italy) and includes eggs, bacon, sausage. The beach is just few minutes away. You can get free beach parasols in the hotel. Also at the hotel bar they prepared me cocktail that was not in the menu. I definitely recommend the hotel
We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! Graziella our host at the hotel was amazing! She was super friendly, helpful, and made sure that our stay was perfect! We loved the location, in the heart of everything. Tropea was probably our favourite destination in our month long vacation to Italy. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!!
This is my second stay at the hotel. This time was even better than the first! beautiful, large room sign two balconies and huge double shower. Breakfast included eggs, meat and cheese choices, fruit, and pastries. Best cappuccinos in Italy! Superb staff. Perfect location—quick walk to the center and the train station.
Excellent location and host Romagnia was very caring and such a lovely lady. Right in the heart of Tropea and close to the station for easy transport in and out of Tropea. Best beach we have swam in Italy!!
