It was a great, spacious lodge with everything you could need. Good airconditioning (we went in summer), good bathroom and other facilities also great! It’s a bit out of the way, you definitely need a rental car, but it’s a lovely and quiet location! The sleeping area is Japanese style, just an FYI, but it added to the charm of the lodge. The hostess was a very kind woman who greeted us with information in our native language and a welcome snack. That was really nice.

The host were incredibly kind and very helpful with pick ups and drop offs. The location was very near to Izuhara port. I would recommend hiring a car if you wanted to fully explore Tsushima though.

I came to this hostel with friend Ania, April 2026. We really loved the stay in Yamaboushi guesthouse and we would wish to stay longer! Yama and Yuka were our hosts and they are amazing people that makes the spirit of the place! The atmosphere in the place is friendly - you get known immediately another travelers and locals that sometimes comes for coffee, since there is also a cafe. The place is very clean, the capsules for sleep are nice and cozy. There are no breakfast included, but you can freely use the kitchen anex. The hostel also have little terrace over the water where you can sit and relax. In summer you can swim in crystal clear water and I can tell you will love it! Yama also have plenty of recommendations of hidden gems of Tsushima. We really loved the island, but the stay in Yamaboushi guesthouse made our stay really exceptional. The atmosphere they create brings people together and made you feel like old friends gathering, so you would not feel as a stranger. I recommend this place to everyone!!! Yama and Yuka - thank you to be our hosts - you really have a great heart to this place! We hope to come back soon!
