Everything is new!!!!! And clean!!!

The Hotel is clean, very well located, nice room, excellent spa, very cool loungewear

It is close to the morning market. Surrounding is peaceful and beautiful. Staff are very friendly and polite.

Superb location in historic center! Great price, simple, clean with access to breakfast. You are greeted and assisted by the former owner who now manages the property. She is kind and solicitous of her guests’ needs and goes the extra mile to ensure their comfort. The walk up is a bit steep but we are 3 women in our 70s and managed. There are two onsens for guests. The one for women is bright and cheerful.

Nice location and very friendly staff.

Very close to the JR station and Nohi bus station where you can catch the buses to day trip to Shirakawa~go and visit sub-zero frozen forest at Akigami onsen. The breakfast was delicious with local traditional food including the amazing “koshihikari” rice and continental options. Walking around the old town is also a unique experience where you can find several restaurants that offers the amazing Hida wagyu. The entrance to the women bath in the hotel is protected with security code, giving extra protection and confidence to the female guests. We could enjoy the warm outdoor onsen and the cold snow.

New super clean new hostel! We were really surprised with the property: great location, great coffee, we had a balcony which was super cute. The room was clean, the soap was to die for !

Centrally located. 10 min walk from the train station

we loved the location , size of room, super clean , fabulous bath area, linens and staff as well as elevator !! Highly recommend!!

What a great hotel for a lovely break in Takayama ; far from the busy, overcrowded cities. The big suite is perfect for a romantic escapade, with a view on the city & the mountains, which is gorgeous at sunset. The bathtub was amazing, it was so relaxing! And we had a balcony to enjoy our even more. I highly recommend.

Location was walking distance to the train and bus station. Room has everything I need and is clean. Washing machine was not expensive and easy to use. Breakfast was simple but fulfilling.

Location is great. Perfect for family who just want to have a short getaway to Takayama. The pastry at the next door’s bakery tasted so good! We enjoyed the morning market, bath house and restaurant nearby too.

Near train station. Excellent restaurant and morning breakfast.

Very nice enmities and great breakfast and cocktail selection

The breakfast and all the selections were really great. We like the most the lounge area especially when you need a space at night to rest and take a break after a long travel outside. It's very relaxing.

Location was great and it was clean

We recently stayed at the Country Hotel Takayama for three nights, from October 5th to October 8th, and we could not have been more pleased with our experience. As a senior citizen couple, we prioritize comfort, convenience, and a welcoming atmosphere, and this hotel delivered on all fronts. Exceptional Location and Accessibility The location is truly a highlight. It is conveniently situated near public transportation, making it incredibly easy for us to explore the beautiful city of Takayama without the stress of long walks or complex navigation. The hotel entrance is wheelchair accessible, which we appreciated, ensuring smooth movement with our luggage and for those who may need assistance. Comfortable and Well-Equipped Rooms Our room was clean, quiet, and provided a very comfortable sanctuary after a day of sightseeing. The air conditioning/heating worked perfectly for the early October weather, and the heated toilet seat was a pleasant, modern touch. We found the room well-maintained, and we understand all guest rooms were renewed in 2017, which definitely shows in their fresh feel. Convenient Amenities We loved the convenience of having a 24-hour Family Mart convenience store right on the first floor—it was perfect for picking up snacks and essentials at any time. The laundry service was also very helpful during our stay, adding to the ease of our travels. The staff were always polite and helpful, contributing to a stress-free environment. Overall Experience Country Hotel Takayama offers great value and a genuinely pleasant stay for older travelers. We felt secure, comfortable, and well-cared for. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area, especially those seeking a hassle-free and accessible base from which to enjoy the charming sights of Takayama. We would happily stay here again.

Greta Location just cross the street from the station.
