Very spacious rooms in close proximity to the local trams so getting to and from different popular tourist locations and shopping malls was extremely easy. Close to glover garden. Modernised traditional stay which was very comfortable overall.

Location, staff, facilities, hotel style

This is a very traditionally run deluxe hotel. Although it's a little on the older side, the employees were very friendly and responsible. The rooms had everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent with lots of variety. The shuttle bus to Nagasaki station was also very nice. The view from the rooms facing the port was also beautiful.

Magnificent and beautifully appointed rooms, great location with next door popular takoyaki and onomiyaki business. Great for walking with hilly environment. Staff were great.

I truly relish my stay at Hotel Indigo Nagasaki. There’s something deeply moving about being in a building that dates back to 1898, once part of the Jesuit “Garden of Mary” monastery. You can feel the layers of history in the quiet corridors and thoughtful details, as if the place gently holds the city’s past within its walls. The room was spacious, beautifully arranged, and opened to a serene harbour view that shifted with the light of day—soft morning haze over the water, then a glittering evening skyline. Breakfast was a real highlight, especially the salmon, perfectly prepared by the warm and attentive kitchen team. What makes the location so special is that the hotel sits right in the heart of Nagasaki’s historic district, surrounded by cobbled streets, old churches, and the quiet elegance of the former foreign settlement. Just a short walk away is Glover Garden, perched on the Minami‑Yamate hillside, where you can wander through Western‑style villas that once belonged to merchants like Thomas Blake Glover, whose work helped shape Japan’s early modernization. From the garden’s terraces there are sweeping views of the bay and the city, and you can feel how Nagasaki has long been a bridge between Japan and the wider world. The area also puts you within easy reach of the Atomic Bomb Museum and Peace Park, so a stay here feels like moving through different chapters of Nagasaki’s story in a single day—faith, trade, war, and reconciliation. The entire team at the hotel, from the front desk to the restaurant staff, made me feel genuinely welcomed and at home. I’m already hoping I’ll have the chance to return someday.

Right in front of the tram station, makes it so convenient, discount for mount inasa ropeway at the reception! The staff was so kind all the time and the room was clean and comfortable. For this price, it exceeded my expectations.

The public bath was massive. Excellent access to all of Nagasaki's main tourist spots.

Cleanness and hospitality. As expected from our previous experience at Motomachi, Kobe last year. I would prefer to select the same hotel chain when I need one in future.

Excellent location for exploring Nagasaki.

We were riding our bikes and were happy to see bicycle parking right next to the hotel. The hotel was perfectly situated near Youme Town, so dinner was sorted, and the usual walking distance for everything else. A great bakery is right behind the hotel too.

Great kocation and very clean place

Great location close to downtown. We enjoyed Chinatown and the quayside and demji old museum/ I hope that is correct. The old Dutch town museum. The bar is great for an evening drink while you chat about your day and plan the next one. Very quaint and peaceful to say your downtown.

Great value for money location

The staff was friendly and polite. The room was really clean and the inside of the whole hotel looks new. It had a small fridge (I think it's more suited for drinks rather than food) and a microwave too, despite it not being a large room. Although relatively small, it didn't feel cramped at all. There is a public bath. I didn't go but if I come here again I want to try it! If you pull the window blind down it lets no light in, so you can sleep soundly even after sunrise. Remotely controlled air conditioner so you can set your preferred temperature yourself.

The location was perfect! A 10 minute walk from Nagasaki station, tram stops right outside, a convenience store across the road, and multiple shopping centres within a short walk and the harbour! The room was nicely sized, and the toilet and shower room (which was huge) were separate. Buffet breakfast was lovely the one morning we had it.

Location great for exploring Nagasaki, restaurants nearby peace park etc . Transport very close
