A beloved retreat for well-known writers, Kamata features Japanese-style rooms with a private hot spring bath, a balcony and soothing nature views. Friendly staff was really helpful, they were very kind letting us know the bus times to hakone (the local bus will only stop by 2 times per day a nearby station). The onsen was great, it had a viewing of the properties private cherry blossoms. Recommended to go during sakura season.

Treeside is offering accommodations in Yugawara. With a bar, the 2-star guesthouse has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. The location is only a 5 minutes walk from the station, which is only a few stops from the central Atami station. We arrived earlier than the time we had told them so the owners had to rush back to let us check in but they were still so nice and welcoming. The room is beyond beautiful: it's clean, it's big, it's modern, and the beds are sooooo soft. Would definitely recommend everyone to give this place a try.
Kaiseki Ryokan Ashikari is located in Yugawara, 4.4 miles from Yugawara Plum Grove and a 12-minute walk from Yugawara Onsen. The Dinner was possibly the best food I have ever experienced. It's a 5 course japanese styled cuisine, finished with dessert, and I would gladly pay $100 alone for that meal. The hotel staff were extremely nice, and the scenery is amazing. The private hot springs is also very relaxing, and can fit 3-4 medium sized people decently well.
Open from March 2016, The Ryokan Tokyo YUGAWARA is located a 10-minute drive from JR Yugawara Station. It features accommodations furnished with modern Japanese interior and features a hot spring... loved everything from the free yukata you can use after your bath, to the comfy setting area and friendly staff , beds were in a Japanese style tatami room and super soft bedding, the breakfast was delicious , very relaxing place to be after being in the city it was nice to go to the sea side
Ryokan Uohan offers Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. Guests can enjoy traditional multi-course meals in their rooms and refresh in the public hot-spring baths. The meals at the facility were served in our room. It was a traditional service and it was an excellent experience!! Staff was very helpful and pleasant. The Yukatas we were given upon check in was a very sweet touch of comfort. The Onsen was also very very pleasurable--we were able to reserve the room for an hour for a private soak .
We really didn't spend much time exploring Yugawara. It was raining very heavily and ended up traveling one day to Hakone and then entertaining ourselves at The Ryokan Tokyo YUGAWARA, which had many activities to keep us busy.
So easy to get to from Tokyo - a direct train. Manyo Park Foot Spa was serene and was amazing for my aching feet. I think it may be the best place on earth! The perfect break of all the sightseeing in Japan.
The Hakone Shrine was very peaceful - worth a visit! The Open Air Museum was very interesting - worth a visit. And we also visited The Gotemba Outlets where you will find a bargain with the Yen so low now. Addidas is super cheap with tax deducted for tourists, make sure you bring your passports. Prada is also cheaper than the outlets in the States by 15%.
