Jurmala is lovely but it is small town. There are some nice restaurants and cafes. The beach is beautiful, sandy and clean. It's a great location for getting into Riga. Trains are regular, clean and modern. 2 euro for a single, 30 minute journey to Riga. It's worth getting the boat from the wee jetty into Riga late afternoon.
